Private tour of La Turbie, Eze, Villefrance, and Monaco?

Recommended Posts

We are considering a full day tour from the Port of Monte Carlo that includes the Coastal Corniches, La Turbie, Eze, Villefrance, and the highlights of Monaco. The tour will start with a drive to the village of La Turbie to see a large monument – Victory Monument of the Alps - that was built by Romans in the year 6 BC for Emperor Augustus to celebrate his victory over the Ligurian tribes that populated the Alps. Then we will travel to the nearby perched village of Eze. Afterwards, we will go to Villefrance for sightseeing and lunch and then return to the small Principality of Monaco for the remainder of the afternoon.

You do not say how long your port day will be, but if its a long day (such as from 9:30 until 4:30) we might suggest a change in itinerary that would first take you to the Flower Market in Nice (a great place in the morning). But, of course, it is all about choices and there are just too many places to see to get it all done in a single port day. If you are not having lunch in Eze Village you can make this a relatively short stop (no more then 1 1/2 hours).

Hank,

We're in port from 8:00 am until 11:00 pm, so we have plenty of time. Thanks for the tip on the flower market!

That is a nice long port day. If you have control over your tour itinerary definitely consider the Flower Market and also spend some time walking around the adjacent Old Town area in Nice. We also love St Paul de Vence which is another option in the region.

Thanks again Hank! We visited Nice several years ago and we’ve been to St. Paul de Vence three times. Last year during a stop in Cannes we took a tour that included Antibes, St. Paul de Vence, Gourdon, and Mougins. We love the hill-top villages. Are there any others besides Eze that would be close enough to include with our itinerary from Monte Carlo.
