Carol/Houston Posted May 11, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 11, 2004 GrandySm, Check out this site. Sky suite 1060 is shown on the Galaxy. Colors may be different on the Mercury but the room should be about the same. http://www.geocities.com/mahdnc/Cabinpix.html If you don't get any other replys, hope this will help a little. I'm on the Mercury, July 16th...Sky Suite 1218. All of the input I have read about the Mercury has been wonderful. Can't wait to be spoiled. Guest Posted May 11, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 11, 2004 we stayed in Galaxy 1060 and really liked it. As mentioned above, it is the same cabin as on the Mercury. If you have any questions, let me know. excitedofharpenden Posted May 11, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 11, 2004 Hi GrandySm We stayed in 1012 the first year. Loved it! The balcony is great and there is enough room for you to have your butler bring you breakfast in the morning (whatever you want). We didn't have any dinners in there as we had such a laugh with our tablemates, but you can do that if you want to. Have him bring it to you a course at a time (but give him a day or so notice). The only difference from 1060 is that you will have an overhang on that cabin (like an awning) above your balcony, whereas we didn't. Having had the overhang last year though, we liked the sunshade and protection from any rain. You will love it, I'm sure . CAT GIRL Posted May 12, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 12, 2004 I'll be staying in 1034. I would like to have a gathering with some fellow cruisers in my room. Can anyone tell me if the alcohol in the room is free or will I have to bring my own stash? I won't want to mess with a mini bar arrangement. I'd prefer to bring my own if I have to. Thanks. Millenium Posted May 12, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 12, 2004 Mahdnc, I saw that you had your two children in your sky suite when they were young. Will two older children fit? Is there room for a rollaway bed? It doesn't seem there is from the pictures. Would the pullout sofa sleep two larger chilren (9 and 11)? It looks small. With the uncertainties about my 3/18/05 Summit cruise, on which I booked a corner FV, I'm trying to find an alternative. Not much else substitutes for an M class FV, and what little there is has already been booked for 2005 spring break. Thanks for all the great info you provide, Millenium
Guest Posted May 12, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 12, 2004 Millenium, Depending on the size of the kids, it is very possible to fit two kids (9 & 11) in the sofabed. Our kids are 8 & 11 now and I am pretty sure that we could still fit them today in that sofabed without any real problem. It is alot less clear to me on where one would put a rollaway bed in that suite if the sofa bed is simultaneously used. The only place I can think of is in the area by the closets near the cabin door but that would block off access to the cabin door and to the bathroom. You are absolutely correct in that there are few decent substitutes for an FV cabin. There are of course the aft FO cabins on the Century class ships which are furnished to sleep 5. Although it is an outside cabin, there is no private balcony. Millenium Posted May 13, 2004 #9 Share Posted May 13, 2004 Mahdnc, Thanks for the info. I saw the FO cabins but wish they were as big as the FV cabins. Millenium (or Millennium)
vlnovak Posted May 29, 2004 #10 Share Posted May 29, 2004 there is no free liquor, bring you own. it is easiest from the port that the ship leaves from as getting it on from other ports can be tricky, any liquor on the ship that you buy will be given to you when you leave, unless you are on the RCL. You can take all of that to your room and it is much less than buying it in port.
ParrotTops Posted April 15, 2006 #11 Share Posted April 15, 2006 Carol-we just booked this cabin. Can you tell me if it had a jacuzzi bathtub? Thanks!
excitedofharpenden Posted April 15, 2006 #12 Share Posted April 15, 2006 Hi ParrotTops. Yes the baths in Sky Suites do have jets. One on each side and two at foot level. Not so much a jacuzzi. It's normal bath size, but it's relaxing nevertheless. Phil

ParrotTops Posted April 15, 2006 #14 Share Posted April 15, 2006 Thanks everyone! I'll take any "jet" I can get! We were just on RCCL Empress and found the OS at an incredible price! The tub was a jacuzzi and I lived in it for 11 days!
