St John shopping?

There doesn't seem to be a lot of information on St John shopping on these boards. We have been to St Thomas several times and this trip plan on taking the first ferry over to St John, going to Trunk Bay and Cinnamon Bay... my question is, is there shopping convenient to the Red Hook Ferry or is it in another area of town? Also, Is it worth leaving the beach early to do shopping/piddling through shops, or a waste of time? Any information is appreciated. Port time 8a-5p

You will find a small plaza a few steps from the ferry terminal in Red Hook (the other side of Fish Tales and Big Bamboo) with a few nice clothing, jewelry, and household item shops. Across the street is a store with a lot of neat used items for sale. For jewelry (esp. Hook bracelets) you'll find much nicer quality and workmanship at St John Bracelet in Cruz Bay on STJ just up from the ferry dock.

 

The shopping in Cruz Bay, St John is our favorite, much more relaxed than Charlotte Amalie and some very nice jewelry, clothing, and art shops. My wife is very fond of a Hook bracelet she had custom made at St John Bracelet (same website) while shopping. Mongoose Junction has a nice craft beer pub as well as shops, and there are additional stores at the other end of the bay near the Beach Bar.
