Aruba on a Sunday

I will be taking my first trip to Aruba and the itinerary has us stopped at Aruba from 8am-7pm. It seems like we will have plenty of time to do things but I have heard it can be quite dead on a Sunday.

Does anybody have recommendations for things to do? We don't want to spend an arm and a leg to do something but definitely want to get off the ship. We don't dive but are willing to snorkel.

Thanks!

The only thing(s) which may be closed are the stores for shopping.

Everything else is "business as usual".

You can snorkel very cheaply if you have your own gear. All the info is at

Snorkling in Aruba -Palm Beach???

Guided snorkel excursions

Beach and Snorkel Excursion with Kini Kini a great variety of snorkeling as well as well as seeing a bit of the island

Tranquilo they are moored a short walk from the ship. It would be a full day of relaxation including as much sailing as snorkeling, but I find it to be one of the best excursions on the island.

Jolly Pirates for something more "lively", but not over the top party

For truly "private"

Strea Charters

Morning Star

Otherwise, the beaches are public and free. You can take the public bus to the beach and rent shade and chaises or for free lay your towel on the sand :)

The snorkeling is really quite good.
Would have to add though that if your cruise is stopping in either Curacao or Bonaire, the snorkeling in those two ports is far superior to Aruba.

Thanks Hatteras :)
