Will we be able to watch the Bruins Game on the Dawn?

We are leaving this Friday on the Dawn and are hoping to be able to watch the Bruins game on Saturday. Anyone know if it will be broadcast on board? In bars? In our room?

We were able to watch the NBA playoffs on the Gem and have watched plenty of football so my guess is yes.

After I hit "submit" I thought I should have written "NHL Playoff Games" instead of "Bruins" but I live in Boston so...:)

If the game is on NBC, then yes...

 

If it is NBC sportsnet, like tonight, then zero chance...

It is on NBC that night. If the Bruins win the next game, you have a chance to see them win the cup from on board the ship. And since the Dawn sails from Boston, it doesn't matter what the weather will be or how smooth the seas are because the ship will still be rocking. ;)

When we were on the Dawn the Patriots game was played on the giant screen where they show movies and the staff set up snacks and coffee. It was a fun atmosphere. WHEN the Bruins win you will be rocking that ship. Have fun.

I was just on the Norwegian Dawn last week during Game 4 against Pittsburgh and Game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals. They DID NOT play the games. We were told they did not have the rights. They also would not broadcast the free radio feed from NHL.com and told us we needed to purchase the internet to listen ($100 for 250 minutes). NBC is not one of the channels provided on the boat. I hope it works out for you guys. Maybe you will be in Bermuda when they play the final game and can watch it. Also, the sports bar was doing Kaoroke during the NBA finals game.

We were also on the Dawn last week and missed the games, although it was a great way to meet people who would come into the Pearly Kings Pub expecting to see the game on, and then we would commiserate about missing it. According to Tim Kaminski, the comedian on board-who was awesome, if they are playing when you are in Bermuda, go to the Fish Bone Bar. He said they have will have it on, unfortunately for us, they were only playing when we were at sea:mad: Go Bruins!

Those games were not on NBC, but the NBC Sports Channel (formerly Versus). The one this Saturday will be on NBC, so here's hoping.

We were on Dawn for the last Stanley cup playoff and also when the Celtics last won the title. They had a special screen set up in one of the bars and we had snacks. It was terrific!! So much fun to be with the Boston crowd. So many people had their team shirts on and it was great because there were opposing team fans also. Made for a fun night!! Enjoy your trip.
