Could someone who was on the Papeete to Lima cruise in April/May 2013 and used O's air, tell me exactly what time they left LAX and what time they arrived in PPT.

We are doing the same trip in 2014 and am trying to decide whether to do an air deviation or not.

We were on the Papeeti to Papeeti leg of this trip. We used Oceania air but took the air deviation and arrived in Papeeti from LAX two days early. Since we used the deviation we were on a scheduled Air Tahiti Nui flight and not a charter. The scheduled flight left LAX on a Friday at 4:30 pm and arrived in Papeeti at 10 pm local time.

Those using Oceania air that did not take the deviation arrived in Papeeti at around 7 pm to 8 pm on Sunday which was the day of embarkation. There were two flights that were chartered. Once was on Air Tahiti Nui and the other on Atlas Air. Hopefully someone who was on these flights can provide exact info.

Did O charge you more then the standard $150/pp deviation fee for early departing flight to Papeete?

Thanks - Mike

Yes they did. We were charged $100 per person in addition to the deviation fee. We flew from JFK (New York) to LAX. I am assuming the up charge was due to the LAX to PPT leg since we weren't on a charter flight but a scheduled flight. We also deviated at the end of the cruise and flew home four days after the cruise ended.

We were on Air Tahiti Nui. Scheduled Departure was 11:40 PM from LAX and scheduled Arrival was 5:10 AM as I recall we actually left around Midnight and arrived around 5:30 AM. We arrived one day early and stayed at the Intercontinental and took a taxi the next afternoon.

Boarding was not allowed until about 5:30 PM. Some guests were allowed to stay on board from the previous cruise until 5 PM.

Thanks Terrier for your helpful response. We are on 1/2014 PPT to PPT cruise and are considering options for arriving couple days early

Steve- Did you book the precruise hotel with Oceania or by yourselves? Did the hotel allow you into your room that early? We are thinking of going in couple days early but unsure about the flight that has passengers arriving that early unless you are able to get into your room once you arrive.

thanks

We are considering the same deviation for upcoming PPT cruise and while looking at available flights, it may be the same arrival time. How did you find Air Tahiti Nui? When you arrived at IC were you allowed to check in and what time did you need to check out by.
