Tomo72 Posted June 22, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 22, 2013 Is it normal for entertainers to only do half a cruise? Noticed Bev Killick checking in at the airport in Vanuatu having been on a P&O cruise. She is a funny comedian as we saw her on a cruise n December, but her comedy is not everyones cup of tea. silverrrmine Posted June 22, 2013 #2 Share Posted June 22, 2013 Completely normal and happens every cruise, but passengers don't normally notice. Most guest entertainers only do the front or back half of a cruise, some may stay on and do a fortnight, if their stage set-up is more elaborate (e.g some magicians). But a night in Vila before/after joining the P&O ships is a common occurrence, I've done it plenty of times myself. This is the same on all lines, whether it's south pac or NZ, or the Caribbean. Kiwi Kruzer Posted June 22, 2013 #3 Share Posted June 22, 2013 Quite usual. If a ship is on a standard "milk run" you may get some entertainers who are booked on for a seasons contract . Its quite fun to do a segment of a World Cruise or a repositioning cruise as at just about every port you see entertainers boarding and disembarking. Must be a lot of work organising all the customs and immigration details:D
