Car rental at Quebec port, return to airport

Has anyone had any experience renting a vehicle in Quebec City; having it delivered to the port, and then after a few extra days of rental, returning the rental to the airport? thanks, Marilyn

I rent a car in Quebec airport (via cruise airport transfer), and a fellow pax rent one with Hertz near pier (he walked to the agency). I have not heard of a company that would deliver your rental to Quebec pier, but they would pick you up.

 

Otherwise, your p/u and drop off location changes (both in Quebec city) should not be a problem, but you maybe charged with a drop off fee depending on the rental company.

Thanks for the response. My DBrother works for Enterprise, so,I may call in a favour, see what he can arrange for rentals in Sydney, as well as QC,

Our cruise is starting in Boston and ending in Quebec City. Would it be possible (inexpensive) to get a one way rental near the port and deposit the car in Boston later that night? I'm trying to avoid Airline expenses. It would be nice if the car came with unlimited mileage. Any recommendations?

I don't know if that is possible...the vehicle you would be renting would be registered in Canada then dropped off in USA...I don't think they can then rent the vehicle from the USA location afterwards...If they can do it, I imagine the drop fee would be a very hefty one.

I just priced it out for fun with Hertz: CA$420, which is still less than the $300+ per person for a flight, but not exactly cheap.
