Oceania Regattta was the first ship to arrive in Prince Rupert this season, on July 15th. Looks like the Canadians put out quite a welcome.

Local News Video of the arrival:

Anyone here have anything to share about their experience at Prince Rupert? We will be there in about 2 weeks.

LHT28 - I can confirm without question we were there on the 15 JUNE! LOL! I expect Curdesilets just has July on his mind! :D

We missed the Mayor as we had a later tour and decided a leisurely breakfast in our PH that morning but as you can see from the short video Regatta was docked starboard in, so as we were on the port side, we missed all the action!

Prince Rupert was a nice town and after our not so great bear watching flight seeing trip, we did walk around town a bit. There is a small but interesting museum with a very nice gift shop with quality items if you were looking for a souvenir. This is within easy walking distance from the pier. We took a taxi to and from the sea plane base and the taxi driver gave us much more information than we gleaned on our tour, and if we had had more time, we would have hired him for a longer tour as he was First Nation and interesting.

But you can see what a great day we had weather wise - it was lovely and warm, we enjoyed afternoon tea in Horizons with a great view over the town and a nap in the sun on deck to let it all go down before getting ready for dinner.
