careycouponer Posted June 23, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 23, 2013 Is it better to book the sting ray encounter with Carnival or with a private company? I'd like less people to a boat and more time there if possible. It's my favorite thing to do! Thanks!
lynncarol Posted June 23, 2013 #2 Share Posted June 23, 2013 Not sure, but isn't the stingray swim in Grand Cayman?
Ninja0509 Posted July 19, 2013 #3 Share Posted July 19, 2013 Do you mean Stingray Beach? That's an enclosed area where the stingrays are captive and barbs clipped. It's 30 minutes interaction with the stingrays, then 30 minutes of snorkeling time in back of the enclosure, plus a water trampoline! We have booked ours via carnival. If you also are going to Grand Cayman, that's where you can do Stingray City Sandbar where you get to only by boat. These are wild stingrays. There are lots of great private tours available with much smaller groups than the ship operated trips.
JohninDC Posted July 19, 2013 #4 Share Posted July 19, 2013 In Grand Cayman we've used Moby dick tours twice and loved the smaller boat and great service. Never done this in Coz. Good luck! :)
bguppies Posted July 19, 2013 #5 Share Posted July 19, 2013 Yeah if your western caribbean cruise includes Grand Cayman, book ANY Sting Ray City excursion there, versus any of the pen excursions like Cozumel or HMC, etc.... It's like the difference of going to watch the MLB All-Star game with front row tickets or watching your neighbor Billy Bob's church league softball team from your fold out camp chair...
