Derbie Posted June 30, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 30, 2013 If you have used Island Ferry; do you have any recommendations or comments? Also, once we are there, is there a place to sit, eat and drink, as well as bathrooms? Did you enjoy your day there? Thanks so much.
SteelerCruiser Posted July 1, 2013 #2 Share Posted July 1, 2013 we took a water taxi over to what I believe was Caye Caulker. Seems like the ride was about 30-45 minutes each way. The terminal for it was on the other side of the tourism village gate. Just go outside the village and down the street and turn left and there it is. as far as the island itself it was ok.....no cars only golf carts and foot traffic..........we walked to the end where there was a restaurant and beach area etc... cpayne Posted July 17, 2013 #3 Share Posted July 17, 2013 Very low key island. Approx 3 miles long and only 3 main streets. There are a variety of restaurants/bars where you can dine, use their beach area and restrooms. We really enjoyed CC, but it's not for everyone b/c it is so low key. The good news is the water taxis run regularly. If you go for lunch, some beach lounging, explore the town and then decide you have had enough then you hop the next taxi back.
