Copenhagen Hotel question, please?

BLS

Recommended Posts

We are sailing on the Sept 12 2006 Star Princess Baltic cruise.

Has anyone stayed at either the Radisson SAS Royal or SAS Scandinavia Hotels?

Did you book it on your own or through the cruise line?

You opinion on these Hotel would be deeply appreciated.

We are debating on 2 or 3 nights precruise.

Any suggestions on reasonable place to eat?

Thanks bunches,

In 2003 we stayed at the SAS Scandinavian...it is a nice hotel a 20 min walk from the city centre but quiet location.

The Royal in in the city centre and lots of traffic and activity.

We were on the 20 something floor and the view facing the old town was incredible. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/lht28/detail?.dir=4883&.dnm=aabb.jpg&.src=ph

We ate at the kiosks in front of city hall very reasonable ...we did eat in the hotel the first day as we were a bit jet lagged the cesaer salad was very good from the bar restaurant in the main lobby.

Breakfast was included with our stay.

There was a gas station across the road where we purchased snacks and bottled water.

Pre -cruise hotel was included with the cruise.

You can also catch the local bus if the walk is too much.

Not sure if the hotel or cruise line put on a shuttle bus into town but that was alos handy.

We were just in Copenhagen and because there were 3 of us the hotel prices were either absolutely ridiculous or required the renting of two rooms. The solution: We stayed at a hotel called Cab Inn. It's quite basic and the rooms are exactly as you'd find on your cruise ship: set of bunk beds on one side, desk and small television on the other wall, small bathroom with tiny shower.

And all rooms had windows! Yet even this cost $150 per night for 3; lower rates for 1 or 2 guests. At least check it out at www.cabinn.com and then click on the British flag to get the English version. We stayed at the Cab Inn City, just two blocks from Tivoli and the main train station.

We just returned from the SAS Royal. Fabulous location and very funky place. Designed by the famous Danish architect, Arne Jacobsen. We had a room on the 19th floor with a drop dead view. We booked it through Radisson.

We also just returned, stayed at the Sofitel which was a block away from the Radisson. I agree, it was a great location. We didn't have quite the view, however it was a very charming and the staff were excellent.
