Halifax Rip Off

Both tourist information booths recommended Murphy's on the Water for lunch. DO NOT GO! The food was terrible and service just as bad. Yes, they have a beautiful location and facility, but it was expensive and sub par. Hope this helps!

Are you sure these were government information booths and not booths run by Murphys?

Murphys gets a middle of the road rating on Tripadvisor. When I've been there I have to say the experience was pretty bland.

 

My guess is that the tourist office suggested them as they are a Featured Member Restaurant with at least one of the tourist offices.

When I travel I either check with a local concierge at a hotel (it's in their best interest to give GOOD suggestions) or check with the locals.

 

Sorry about the restaurant, hope you at least enjoyed Halifax.
