jescott54 Posted July 3, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 3, 2013 Both tourist information booths recommended Murphy's on the Water for lunch. DO NOT GO! The food was terrible and service just as bad. Yes, they have a beautiful location and facility, but it was expensive and sub par. Hope this helps!
maryann ns Posted July 3, 2013 #2 Share Posted July 3, 2013 Are you sure these were government information booths and not booths run by Murphys?
RickT Posted July 3, 2013 #3 Share Posted July 3, 2013 Murphys gets a middle of the road rating on Tripadvisor. When I've been there I have to say the experience was pretty bland. My guess is that the tourist office suggested them as they are a Featured Member Restaurant with at least one of the tourist offices. http://destinationhalifax.com/visitors/where-to-eat When I travel I either check with a local concierge at a hotel (it's in their best interest to give GOOD suggestions) or check with the locals. Sorry about the restaurant, hope you at least enjoyed Halifax.
