Can you pack aerosol cans in your checked luggage or should it be in your carry on? Or not at all? Have some bug spray for Alaska.

My mom and I always packed hair spray, aerosol cans, in our carry-on bag sand never had any problems with it. Never sent it through a suitcase being checked.

I think someplace you are not supposed to, but we take bug spray to the Caribean all the time. We also take hair spray in carryon all the time.

Yes, areosol is allowed in "limited quantities". Go here for a complete list:

Aerosols may be allowed in limited quantities, BUT NOT IN CHECKED LUGGAGE! OK in carry-ons, though. There are plenty of places (in Alaska) where you can buy your bug spray, without having to carry it with you. (There was a similar posting on this board about 6 months ago or so, relating to what you can/can't carry in checked luggage ... please search that one out.)

There are a lot of bug sprays that are not aerosol. I take them. The way they handle luggage I would hate to have any aerosol cans explode in them.
