carnival or royal Caribbean for 11 year old?

I live in Florida and am new to cruising. I want to take my 11 year old daughter on her first cruise in the beginning of August and can't decide what ship. Any suggestions??

My family has cruised several times on RCCL and Carnival. My oldest daughter (10 yrs old) by far liked the kids clubs on RCCL better. However, Carnival will be less expensive. Don't get me wrong she has a great time on Carnival too. She just would rather RCCL.

Thanks for your input. Were going on the oasis on August 3rd. We got lucky and were able to get an ocean view balcony for the same price as a window. Good timing and luck. Lots of planning and packing to do, little time. Great problems to have!

I have wanted to try an indoor. We had a balcony, and it was so fun to watch the ship pull in and out of port. We also had coffee and a light breakfast there. However, I loved the lido so much that I think an indoor might be sufficient for next time, knowing I will spend all day out there.
