Magic A/C

I'm in the ship now and it is hotter than --- almost everywhere we go. I remember it being hot last ear too, but didn't ever feel like I needed a shower every 5 minutes on the Conquest or the Triumph. In addition, the Casino smells of smoke - more than last year.

I'm hoping once we get moving and I can sit on deck in my swimsuit, it will get better! Well, I know it will because I'm in vacation!

When I went on the Magic in November 2012 I was almost always cold... it amazes me to see so many posts that people are too warm.

I was on the Magic in Sept last year and I froze everywhere, even in the cabin. I too am amazed at how many people say it is warm.

Yes, once you leave port the AC will kick in and cool your cabin. We've been on lot's of cruise's and it's always hot when we board.

I think the smoke smell in the casino is probably related to not having AC air moving around. It should go away when you leave port.

I'd like to know what happened after you started sailing .

It got considerably cooler after we set sail, but it was smokin' when we were docked. With it being so hot and humid today, it was bad this afternoon. Now we're comfortably sitting on the Lido deck for movie and popcorn - weather is nice!

We just got off the Magic yesterday! And we wish we were still there! I missed my pizza and ice cream last night! :( It was really hot when we boarded last Sunday. The steward mentioned that they were having trouble with the cabins on deck 2 aft on the starboard side. But he said they were working to fix it and once we started sailing it was fine. It never got as cold as we would have liked in the cabin at night, but it was fine. Enjoy your trip! We loved all the ports, but Grand Cayman was our favorite! :)

We were just on the Magic July 7th-14th, and our cabin was very hot. We could not sleep at night and called someone to come to our room. They checked the temp and said it was 74.4 (.4 above their normal range). They were supposed to fix it the next day, and gave us a big box fan. The next day it was even hotter. They came back, checked the temp and said it was 76 degrees. They promised to have it fixed right away. It did seem to get better, and they did compensate us which we appreciated. We are used to sleeping in our house with a temp of 69 degrees at night. Now, I will say that we had family who were staying on the other side of the ship and both of their rooms were freezing cold. Every room is different, and if we ever sail on the Magic again, I will probably try to reserve one of their rooms in the hopes that it will still run a bit cool.
