Scarlet and grey Posted July 15, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 15, 2013 Booked tickets for Tablao de Carmen flamemco show for a Sunday evening in October. Would like to have dinner either before or after the 7pm show in Poble Esanyol. Any suggestions??? Also, is taxi the best way to get there from our hotel on La Rambla? Kim Just wondering why you aren't having the tapas option offered. It was awesome and filling. Bread smeared with tomato (a catalan staple), cured meats, cheeses, calamari to die for!, plus some other things (can't remember them all, just my favorites) plus wine or sangria. It was delicious and an affordable option.

Debathome Posted July 16, 2013 #4 Share Posted July 16, 2013 I agree, you get the same food in the tapas selection except that it is not served individually but family style. It's a great place and getting into Pablao Espanyol is a nice perk. We had hop on hop off tickets and used them to get to the restaurant. If you have decided on doing the hop on, use it as a taxi to get there. If not, a short cab ride from La Rambla is the best way. A side note: Afterward walk to the Magic Fountains on Montjuic. It will burn some of those calories and you will get a great view of the city and a lovely treat when the fountain dances to music. Go to the dinner that is served just prior to the show and then you will have time afterward for the fountain. *which I think began at 9:30*
Scarlet and grey Posted July 16, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted July 16, 2013 Great suggestions, thank you! Many trip advisor reviews mentioned the food was nothing great, so opted for show and drinks only...hope that wasn't a mistake. We are going in October and I read the fountain show might not be on
goldiegaylee Posted July 19, 2013 #6 Share Posted July 19, 2013 We will be staying at the Barcelona Hilton in the financial district. We are buying a 2 day pass to use the Red HOHO bus, which stops right by our hotel. What would be the best way to get to Tablao de Carmen early show? How far is it from a red HOHO bus stop? Are there Taxis available to return to the Hilton? Any idea on how much Taxi fare would be? Thanks in advance for any info. GiGi
