whynotnow50 Posted July 16, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 16, 2013 I noticed in one of the Patters that someone was nice enough to post that there is an Alaskan Cocktail Experience. Could you describe what that is? It sounds interesting.:)
whynotnow50 Posted July 17, 2013 Author #2 Share Posted July 17, 2013 Hi, just bumping this up. I'm still hoping for a description of this activity, if anyone knows. Thanks.

Could you describe what that is? It sounds interesting.:) It's a drink. The Patter often advertises interesting drinks and calls them an experience. You still pay for it. The Alaska is an old cocktail which features the use of gin mixed with Chartreuse. Sources vary of which color of Chartreuse to use, but generally the drink is made with yellow Chartreuse. whynotnow50 Posted July 18, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted July 18, 2013 Thank you for the answer. I don't care for gin, but I still might try it.
Pia1913 Posted July 18, 2013 #6 Share Posted July 18, 2013 Thank you for the answer. I don't care for gin, but I still might try it. If you do, sip judiciously. That stuff sneaks up on you. I speak from experience.
whynotnow50 Posted July 18, 2013 Author #7 Share Posted July 18, 2013 Since we're on the subject, if you absolutely had to ONLY drink one cocktail or beer forever, what would you choose? I'd like to try a couple unusual items on the ship and would like some ideas.

I'd like to try a couple unusual items on the ship and would like some ideas. At this point in my life I drink only sauvignon blanc or pinot grigio. No hard alcohol. Beer: Yuengling, Shiner Bock or Becks. You can find Becks on board, but not the other two.

Arusha Posted July 18, 2013 #10 Share Posted July 18, 2013 Alaska cruises may carry local beers from the Alaskan Brewing Company. I like their Alaska Amber. Unfortunately, none of their beer is distributed east of the Mississippi.
adstz Posted July 19, 2013 #11 Share Posted July 19, 2013 If I drink (not often and usually on a cruise), I like something sweet. Princess serves a drink called a "Dirty Banana" that I love. It is blended and tastes like a chocolate milkshake with a banana in it. Yes, it does have alcohol in it but it doesn't taste like it. Yum! ddgg Posted July 20, 2013 #12 Share Posted July 20, 2013 The 'dirty banana' was my favorite drink on my last Princess cruise! I hope I can get it on the Sapphire when I sail this December.
