Oasis Nov 2013

Recommended Posts

just booked a week in November on the Oasis! had no plans for a cruise this year but DH was watching something on TV on Saturday that profiled a new ship with the NCL line. he said - let's do a cruise - I went on-line to the NCL site & the RCCL site - found the Oasis and booked a Jr. Suite that day! so excited - a little nervous as its still "hurricane season" though... would love some feedback on this huge ship!!

We sailed on the Oasis last year during hurricane season. The only impact it had on our cruise was calling on Nassau last instead of first. We loved the ship, and it is definitely a destination in itself. We did My Time Dining and enjoyed the flexibility of dining when we wanted each night. If you're interested in seeing the shows, make reservations online when they open for your sailing. We saw them all and they were fantastic! If you have specific questions, ask away.

Congrats! Good for you! You will LOVE the Oasis! Not to worry on the date .... chances are you will have no problems at all, but if you do, they know how to avoid it and it will all be fine! There is so much to do on that ship you won't have time to do it all! That's what they told me before I went, and it's true! Can't wait to go again. We always get a JS .... you will love the extra room and the balcony! As other posters said, book the shows in advance and decide what you want to do in port .... you didn't say which itinerary you are going, but both are good! Have fun and Happy sailing! :) Enjoy! Know you will!;)

When you pre-book your shows try to book the Aquatheatre show at the beginning of the cruise. It can sometimes be cancelled due to the weather and it is a show that you definitely do not want to miss.

Although your documentation may give a later embarkation time, arrive at Port Everglades just before 11am. You will probably find yourself on the ship by 11:30am. Although you won't have access to your stateroom until 1pm, you can explore the ship. When we boarded at 11:30am we went to Giovanni's Table for lunch. It was amazing - a great way to begin our holiday. Sat and had a lovely meal and then, by the time we had finished, we went to our stateroom to leave our carry on luggage before exploring.

Walk all the way aft on decks 11, 12 and 14 and you will find a small public balcony. A lovely quiet place to sit and relax. There is a large public balcony on deck 14 forward accessed port side.

We sailed the Western route - if you do the same you may want to consider a cabana on Labadee. We booked one on our last visit and it was truly amazing. The price online is for the cabana, and not per person.

Not sure if you are aware but RCCL allow you to bring on 2 bottles of wine per stateroom at no charge.

Any questions - just ask.
