Boarding Sunshine today

Just waiting for the train in Rome to take us to Venice where we'll board the Sunshine later this morning. I will post pictures on our Grand Scenic Ocean View cabin and eventually post an honest review. If you have questions, feel free to post them and I'll see what I can do to answer some. Be patient, 'cause I'm on vacation after all. :-)

I did that train ride in reverse, but I don't remember how long it took. How long is your train ride?

 

Love the ride across the causeway over to the island (we took a train from Paris to Venice as well). There was a ship there looking like it was anchored to the island, as well as dwarfing it.

It's a great ship, enjoy your cruise!

 

And those crazy Italian drivers. One of them was dumb enough to try to cause an incident but no worries. Cruise ships in and out of Venice are escorted by tugs. They keep an eye on things.

Hey folks. Sorry for the delay. Didn't buy onboard internet so had to wait until now (Dubrovnik) to post.

 

What a whirlwind couple of days. Initial feedback of Sunshine is positive. Had a somewhat major issue but it was dealt with in a good way by some incredible staff. I'll go into details about this when I post my review at the end of my cruise.

 

I'll attempt to post a pic or two now of 9126 as I know some folks are waiting for this. If you are in this cabin in the next month or so, you'll want to pay particular close attention to my review later on. If i can't manage to post pics now I will later. Cabin has the best view I've ever seen!

 

Ship overall is nice. Layout is a bit wonky but that has (so far) kept many guests from discovering some locations. The result is packed spaces in some areas and tons of empty tables in others. I've taken full advantage of those but expect my secret to leak out eventually.

 

No listing.

 

Some smells here and there, but isolated and not overpowering. May or may not be dry dock related.
