finest14 Posted July 31, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 31, 2013 We're staying pre-cruise at the Tremont. I'm looking for a restaurant for dinner that night that is family friendly and within walking distance. It'll be DW, DS11 and myself. Thanks in advance! bsrkent Posted August 1, 2013 #4 Share Posted August 1, 2013 We live in Fort Worth and love to travel to Galveston for long weekends (when we are not cruising). Your hotel is in downtown, but friendly and safe so you'll want to walk the Strand Street sites then on down near the water that is the port... only blocks and a nice walk. You will find lots of eateries but we particularly like The Olympia at Pier 21, right on the water and can eat outside if you wish. You can see the view from this spot on the Galveston city cruise cam http://www.galveston.com/cruisecam/ In our opinion the best food experience in town would be the almost century old place on Seawall Blvd... Gaido's... best gumbo and best pecan pie ever... anywhere. Enjoy Galveston and enjoy your cruise.
