Diving in Carlisle Bay, Barbados

This is a really specific question but hopefully someone who has dived Carlisle Bay can help me out! I will be going to Barbados soon and I really want to go there.

So i have heard about this sunken old fashioned telephone that is sitting somewhere underwater in Carlisle Bay. And i know its kinda a weird question, but if anyone has seen the underwater phone and knows where it is in the bay that would be super helpful.

Thanks!

Some years ago, Barbados Telephone Company dumped a bunch of equipment into the sea.

Very eco-friendly,no?

but in local eyes, that's what the sea's there for, isn't it?

Good luck finding this needle in a haystack! ;)

On the outer barrier reef at Sandy Lane, I was diving with a young British Lord (late 70s)

and we came across a Morris Minor at around 70 feet.

Brilliant! :D You can't make this stuff up, can you!

interesting.. well thanks for the advice

i think i figured out it is around the cornwallis wreck :o

You probably mean the wreck of the Berwyn..a small tug that was scuttled in 1916

in about 20 ft. depths, but probably shallower today.

Although Cornwallis was struck and sunk in Carlisle Bay by a German torpedo

she was refloated, repaired in Trinidad and went on to be sunk later in World War II

somewhere in the Gulf of Maine! That's where you'll find her.
