How old to be in the RCI teen club?

Recommended Posts

My next cruise I will be 18 years old. I think I will not be in the teen club but my mom really thinks I will... If I'm not can I go in that other club?

Please help settle this argument!

Also what else is good for 18 year olds to do on ships? Hopefully I will be on Allure of the Seas! Thanks!

You will be too old for the teen club, it is only up to age 17.

You will be allowed in all adult venues but will not be allowed to drink. If the other club you refer to is the adult disco, yes, you will be allowed in but will most likely be carded to enter.

There are some events for the 18-20 crowd but not many, unfortunately. Check the cruise compass each day. You will be able to find others your age to hang around with if you want.

Have a great cruise.

There is a Club 18-20 that has scheduled activities. I looked at a couple of our cruise compasses to see what was offered for this age group. There are Meet and Mingles, a DJ class, karaoke, a rock climbing wall competition, etc. If you go on the Freedom of the Seas, there are 4 port days and only 2 sea days. There are shows every night and after dinner, there is more entertainment like the Quest show (I saw a lot of young people there) and Battle of the sexes. I saw volleyball games, basketball games and soccer games. Pool side, there seemed to be entertainment like the bellyflop contest and dancing contests. And you can work out in the fitness center. Good luck!

My DD turned 18 a few days before our last cruise. It opened plenty of doors for her and I suspect that why she rates it as her best cruise yet. She loved being able to go to the casino (she was up $90 by the end of the cruise ... mostly from lucky spins on roulette using our match play certificates). She was able to go to the disco (including ladies night, where she got selected as one of five lucky ladies by the five male performers (which, of course ended up on the cruise-in-review video). And she was a key player on our silver-medal quest team. She also competed in Battle of the Sexes.

Yep, there are advantages to being a fledgling adult. She's probably the only one at her high school prom that bought her ticket with money won in a casino.

Hello! I am 18 and recently sailed on the Allure. I went to the adult club and had a blast, more fun than in the teen clubs. There is an 18-20 party one night I believe and it is easy to make friends there because there are a lot of people in your same situation. They are very strict with not letting 18 year olds in the teen club.

You are going to have a blast, I loved being able to actually be in any room on the ship this cruise. I gambled for the first time and came home with some extra cash!

By the way, I just finished my review of Allure if you want to check it out. I talk about many of the activities I did every day. Link is in my signature!

Bon Voyage!

Hey thanks for the advice! I LOVED your review like it was literally the best i have ever read! (it was the only one I've read but still!!) I have a couple questions for you..

I just got a GoPro Hero 3! how on earth did you do those time laspses? They are so cool I would love to try to make some of my own on my cruise! (if its hard to explain, it could be cool if made a how to on youtube! just a suggestion!)

Also, I think on the second to last night, you said the 15-17 were in the Blaze club and I was wondering if older people would be allowed in there too? Im sure not because of creepers but Im 18 and I will be with a 16 (almost 17) year old friend and we really want to go dancing together!

You are an amazing photographer and a great writer! Thanks again! (Hopefully you will see this I can barely figure out this website!)

Thanks so much!

GoPro Hero 3 -

You are going to love it, it really is awesome! I had to get used to it at first, I watched a lot of YouTube videos myself and did a lot of trial and error testing. I bought a Joby Gorillapod Flexible Mini so I could wrap it around the railing from our balcony and have the camera sit and stay in one place.

Once you have the camera on, press the button next to the camera lens (mode) and keep pressing it until you see a little image on the tiny screen that shows the 5 sec with a little circle arrow going around it. Then it is set to automatically capture an image every 5 seconds until you tell it to stop. To make it start automatically taking pics, press the button on the top. The red flash will go off every 5 seconds which indicates the camera took a picture. Once you think you took a long enough time lapse, press the top button again and it will stop.

You will also have to download free software from GoPros website, http://gopro.com/3d-cineform-studio-software-download/ this will combine all of the photos for you and automatically make the time lapse video.

Whew! That was a lot of words, here is a link to a YouTube video that really helped me!

Blaze -

Nope, we weren't allowed to access Blaze when the teens were in there. (That feels weird to say, lol!) But good thing for you, remember I said there was that GLOW party one night? That is held in Studio B and everyone is allowed to go dance there! Looked very fun, it had a club atmosphere but you and your friend will be able to go together and have fun. I can't remember which night it was but it is advertised throughout the ship.

Hope that helped! Glad I saw it, if you have anymore questions and don't think I'll see it here (that is likely if this thread gets pushed back a page or two), then ask me on my review and I will be sure to see it there!

Have fun!
