Scorpio41 Posted August 13, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 13, 2013 Dublin is no longer by tender next week. I'm going in search of a pint of Guinness. :D
Thoie Posted August 13, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 13, 2013 What kind of shops are you looking for? You're listed as coming in to Ocean Pier 33 (http://www.dublinport.ie/information-centre/cruise-liners/). If I've got the right place, then from the pier it's about a 15 minute walk to the nearest Luas (tram) stop "The Point" on the red line. Buy a ticket from the machine at the stop. Take the luas to Abbey Street (all of them will go there, so just get on the first that comes along). Abbey Street stop is right by O'Connell Street. This site will give you public transport options for getting around Dublin: http://hittheroad.ie/#from=The+Point,+Dublin%2853.347508,-6.228356%29&to=Grafton+Street,+Dublin%2853.3423,-6.259747%29 The Luas website is http://www.luas.ie If you're planning on taking a lot of public transport, you can buy a one day adult combi ticket (which covers you for all Luas and Dublin bus trips) for €8.10 from the luas ticket machine. This makes sense if you're going to take 4 or more trips (e.g. Luas - Bus -Somewhere - Bus - Luas)
majortom10 Posted August 13, 2013 #4 Share Posted August 13, 2013 Wouldnt it be easier just to get the free P&O shuttle bus and get dropped of at Kildare Street right in the middle of the city.
Thoie Posted August 13, 2013 #5 Share Posted August 13, 2013 That does sound a lot easier!
