B2B Liquor Questions

Recommended Posts

We will be doing a B2B on the Ecstasy in ten days (hooray!) to get us to Platinum status. It's our first B2B and I had a couple of questions some more experienced cruisers might know. We will be staying in the same room in both cruises.

(1) Do you go through customs at the end of the first cruise if you don't leave the ship? I've heard they put you up in a lounge between cruises to give them time to clear things out between cruises.

(2) Does your free liquor allowance double because you're doing two cruises (assuming you make separate purchases on each cruise)?

(3) If you buy liquor in Nassau or in the on-board shop on the first cruise, will they deliver it to the room on the last night of the first cruise (which would allow us to consume it during the second cruise)?

Thanks in advance for the answers.

(1) Do you go through customs at the end of the first cruise if you don't leave the ship? Yes.I've heard they put you up in a lounge between cruises to give them time to clear things out between cruises. you will probably be asked to meet somewhere at around 10:00 am. A ships officer will accompany you off the ship to customs, then wait and escort you back.

(2) Does your free liquor allowance double because you're doing two cruises (assuming you make separate purchases on each cruise)? We did not purchase any booze on board to take home, so I don't know. BUT, we were allowed 2x the wine aboard as part of our carry-on allowance.. We did need to explain a bit plus show our second boarding pass, but after some explaining to a supervisor we were allowed the extra wine.

(3) If you buy liquor in Nassau or in the on-board shop on the first cruise, will they deliver it to the room on the last night of the first cruise (which would allow us to consume it during the second cruise)?Probably, we bought some booze on the ship the last night of the 1st leg and were able to take it back to our cabin. Not sure about the off ship purchases though...

Thanks in advance for the answers.

My answers are based on our experiences on the Liberty this last June. Congrats on your B2B.

I don't know the liquor answer ! But you can take four bottles of wine. Even before they look at my carryon I tell them we are B2B hence 4 bottles.

No they don't put you in a lounge, you will get a letter telling you to come to the lobby area. We just sit at the bar, always someone to talk to. They will then walk you off ship turn in your customs paper & show your pass port then back on ship & you are free to roam. You can go back to your cabin if you like.

I have been doing my laundry at this time. DH likes to sit on the LIDO deck & watch our new cruise friends get their first look.

Any other questions ask away. we have done nothing but B2B'S for the last few years.

Yes you can double your liquor and yes you get the liquor from the frst cruise the last night. We did that and drank in the room during life boat drill, our cabin steward said we didn't have to do it a second time but we would need to stay in our cabin during that time.

We did a b2b in NOLA, and after going thru Customs, we could get off to tour New Orleans. We took our liquor and dirty laundry off and put it in our car at the pier parking garage. It's nice to know we can bring more than one bottle of wine, we are on a b2b2b in November! We were also on the Dawn June 16th Boston to Bermuda. Had to pay a corking fee to bring a bottle of wine on that one.
