Cruise Cash Loop Hole?

Yes you can, I didn't do it but have read many times that others have. Do search and you should find it. From memory and certainly not a exact description just a general recall from what I've read and someone in my group from my cruise last may did. But you use your S&S card in the slots and then "cash" out what you loaded up. The exact details I don't remember but the info is out here, try doing a search.

Thanks, I did that.

I have seen conversations about other non refundable credits and doing this, but not specifically about cruise cash. I was just hoping to confirm this could be done before trying it myself.

Sure, I do it every cruise.

I play the slot quite alot, so I like to load up with some extra spending money.

Just download it from your S&S account to your players bank (no fee, shows up as entertainment). You do need to spin the reels a time or two. The Casino doesn't want people using the slots as ATM's, so if you don't go ahead and play some, they will lock your card until they have explained the rules.

To make it easy on myself I download several hundred dollars at a time.

Thanks for the info! :)

I'm not planning on using it as an atm and I do plan on gambling here and there. I just want to make sure if I do have some left over funds, that there is a way to cash it out before the "use it or lose it" comes into effect.

The problem being - it depends on how the ship "cashes out"..

for example, on the Splendor last year - you printed a slip and took it to the cage for your cash...

BUT

I am told that the Magic "cashes out" back to your S/S card...

It "cashes out" back to your players club account which is stored on your S&S card. You take your S&S card to the casino cage and they will give you $$

And you don't have to cash out the entire bank at once, you can cash out part of it.

I play the slots quite a bit now, and it's gotten to the point where the only cash we bring is what we'll need for before we set foot on the ship. All of our excursion/port/tip cash comes from me just, well, using the slot machine as an ATM. :I. I'll leave my gambling money on the card and just get the cash that I need for the next day. With the 1.5% redemption rate on the Carnival card for purchases over $1500, I'm essentially getting 3% cash back on every transaction. And the other bonus is not having to travel with so much cash on us - always made me nervous to travel knowing we had so much money in our bag!

As for cruise cash, why not just buy gift cards online? I imagine it might be a bit of a pain to transfer cruise cash if you have to cancel or reschedule for whatever reason. Plus, if you forget and don't use all of the money, you'll get a gift card back for the remainder, vs. cruise cash where you would just be SOL and lose it.

Thanks for posting this in a public forum that Carnival reads themselves.

This way they can figure out what and how their customers are doing things and make any adjustments if necessary.

If enough people do the 1 or 2 spin thing, they will catch on. However, there is no way to regulate it with people who are playing the machines on a regular basis. The only way around it is to reintroduce the 3% fee for a charge to S&S, and I don't know why in the world they would do that. I know plenty of people (myself included) who gamble a LOT more because they can just charge it to the account. The spending racks up much quicker that way, since when people use just cash, if they lose it, they're done.

Just last week DH set himself a $250 limit on using the S&S account for slots. He ended up spending $350. Which would Carnival rather have, an extra $7.50 in 3% fees on the $250 or the extra $100 he spent as a result of convenience?
