Anyone gotten a VIFP offers?

I received a free cabin offer from the players club the other day. When I called I was given a choice of about 15 different cruises....europe and caribbean. Ended up booking an 8 day out of New York in a balcony. No airfare needed. Total cost was $224 for taxes for the cabin. Last Carnival cruise was in 2011 so it was a big surprise....

I remember playing the slots quite a bit, but nothing crazy....think I came out about even..... I was not checking Carnival website since I have been on a Celebrity "run" so I am sooo glad they mailed me the offer.

I haven't sailed Carnival nearly as many times as some of you other folks but I have a special casino offer with 4 & 5 day cruises as low as $99. It has showed up each time I log into their website over the past several weeks.

Also received the Carnival Players Club promo. We were offered several cruises up until Decemner 15, 2013. They sure were free with port and gratuities only. Look at the fine print regarding insurance. It said, if for any reason you do not cruise you will be charged the going rate for the cruise at the time of booking. Needless to say I took the insurance for $49. Would sure hate to pay for a "free" cruise if I couldn't go. I am not a high roller by any means and when I called the Players Club before a Dream cruise in November 2011 I was told I did not qualify for anything. That was the last Carnival cruise I took but did sail with them many times in the 90's. I still can't figure out the rhyme or reason for being chosen but I happily traded my expensive RCCL Thanksgiving cruise for a 7 day Thanksgiving Valor cruise in a Lido balcony. Thank you Carnival!

What shows today , MAY be GONE tomorrow. If you are thinking about it I would grab it. I waited till a weekend to check with a friend and lost an 8 day for $149. :( When I called to see if it was still available I was told that those offers are random and you need to grab them when you see them.

On my last cruise I got an offer for a whopping 20%...off the Fun Select rate. It was cheaper to book under the Fall and Winter sale. :rolleyes:

Wish my wife had called a few days earlier in case we could possibly have gotten an 8 day out of Miami or Ft. Lauderdale. But I won't complain since we did get a balcony on the Legent out of Tampa and its only a 20-25 minute drive.

Just booked a VIFP exclusive offer that my travel agent couldn't find until I gave her my past guest number. Not sure if this is something everyone gets or if this is what you guys are talking about but I booked the Ecstasy for a good rate Oceanview 6A cabin and got $175 OBC for our cabin. The only thing cheaper was a SC resident rate with no OBC and Oceanview guarantee, it was $120 cheaper than the "VIFP exclusive rate" but we got to pick a room on Upper deck.

I have cruised with Carnival quite a bit. I have never received an offer or an upgrade or even an upsell.

Yall that are getting the offers, do you usually spend alot on your sail and sign. I don't maybe that's the problem?
