Quick question...need help.

Friends of mind just booked a cruise on the spare of the moment that leaves next week. He is taking his 14 year daughter and his girl friend is taking her 13 year old daughter. Besides birth cert., will the kids need photo id and if so what kind?

I think you might need some documentation from the other parent. Not sure but I would call carnival about it.

 

under 16 doesnt need a photo id.

No photo ID needed under 16 but they may need a notarized letter from the non traveling parent allowing them to go.

From the Carnival FAQ

 

All guests 16 years of age or older must provide an official photo I.D. When traveling with a minor and both parents/legal guardians are not cruising, we strongly recommend bringing an original signed letter from the absent parent/legal guardian authorizing the minor to travel with you. This will expedite processing by the Department of Homeland Security. Please note that a notarized letter to this effect is required if debarking with children in Mexico.
