VIFP Randomly Changing Your Information?!?

Hi!

Created a VIFP account about a month ago, at the end of July, after my first CCL cruise. I create the account, log in, go to My Profile and begin to fill in the information. Strange - there is already a Pennsylvania address and phone number listed in the Address/Phone Number fields. I don't live in Pennsylvania.

I change the address/phone number to my correct information and update the profile. I e-mail Carnival to let them know. I don't receive a response.

I log on again to my VIFP 1-2 weeks later when researching/booking my October 2013 honeymoon cruise. This time, it has my address and phone number listed in Oklahoma. Again... I don't live in Oklahoma, and I don't recognize this address.

I call Carnival and speak to a representative, who doesn't understand why my address/phone number have been changed twice in the VIFP system. All other data is correct, and I've changed my passwords repeatedly. The representative changes my address/phone number on Carnival's end, and says to log on in 24-48 hours to see if the information is correct.

24-48 hours later, I check. It's correct.

I book my honeymoon cruise and log on today to complete E-CheckIn. My address/phone number are listed in E-CheckIn as being in FLORIDA. I check my VIFP - the same incorrect Florida address and phone number are listed.

I call Carnival and speak to a representative, who says he can submit a report to Tech Support, but that he can't do anything and his supervisor can't do anything - what do I want them to do? (Honestly - fix the #$%^ system so I feel like my information is safe.) I was told that I could fill out the paperwork at the port if I felt unsafe. I'm getting married the day before my cruise and I'm moving to the other side of the country the day after I return from the cruise. I don't need any more stress than that.

Has anybody has this issue? VIFP (and E-CheckIn) changed my information multiple times. I don't know if Carnival is inept, this is a random glitch, or there is something they can do to fix it/reassure me that everything is okay and they're just not doing it. I'm REALLY uncomfortable filling out the E-CheckIn because of the personal data involved - if I'm getting someone else's data, how do I know that my data is safe?

I'm frustrated, uncomfortable, and I feel like I should be getting some sort of response other than, "We don't know. Sorry. Keep changing your information in our system, I guess," but I worry that I might be a bit unreasonable with that expectation.

I'd appreciate any help/insight that you could give - thank you!

While not as troubling as having random addresses, I too have had problems for over a year. For some reason every time I put in my correct address in my profile, it also changes my father's address to mine. If he changes his back, it changes mine to his. I have emailed Carnival tech support about 10 times with absolutely no luck or response in getting it fixed. I'll be honest, I have just given up and left the address as his. If Carnival sends me anything in the mail, I just pick it up when I go home to visit every month.

I figure my problem originated in that my very first cruise on Carnival I was a minor traveling with my parents and our VIPF numbers are some how "linked" in their system.

Not to add to your stress but before you take that Honeymoon cruise( Congrats by the way) make sure your documents have the correct names on them, divers license, passport/BC and not one your maiden name and one your married name and your Carnival documents as well.

Sorry about the mess with addresses, my sisters always goes to my address from Carnival and we have tried changing it but seems to have a mind of it's own.

Hope they get it fixed for you and have a wonderful cruise!

Yes, it's all handled and booked under my maiden name. I'm not initiating a name change until I'm all settled with my cross-country move, and I work in the legal field, so this is all old hat for me. :)

It's weird - I mean, for me, it's not an "oh, your address is linked to this other VIFP address!" in Carnival. I've gotten three totally unfamiliar, don't-know-anybody-who-lives-there addresses. It makes me wonder where my address went.

I'd be very uncomfortable too, if this happened to me. I've had other problems with Carnival's website that took forever to fix. You're giving them a lot of personal information that you'd like to think is kept confidential.

As much as Carnival depends on their website for bookings and advertisements, you'd think they would make it a priority and get the people qualified to make it run right.

No, you certainly don't need any additional stress at this time.

And congratulations.

We've had that problem for about a year now. Periodically, they have our address as Pennsylvania, when we live in New York. I've changed it and it will be okay for awhile, then it goes back again. But I must admit it has been several months now and we're doing okay. I sure hope Players Club is not looking at that address -- I wonder if that's why we're not getting any free casino cruises??:D.

i got you all beat! they merged my parents cruise history with someone elses. someone else basicly earned my dads cruise points.

I was printing their documents for our upcoming cruise and they had his name as randy and not Robert and had the others guys wife and my mom confused. they had the right state ohio but not city. they even had the wrong email.

we were on the phone for two hours trying to fix this. was not happy.

Have you cruised since that time?

I'll admit, I went from "This is an inconvenience, whatever," to "OH I DON'T THINK SO" when the E-CheckIn had automatically filled in the incorrect Florida address. I don't want to give them any more personal information if the E-CheckIn is also changing.
