Trying to decide on southern cruise for next fall

I am looking at a southern cruise next fall, and noticed that both Jewel and Adventure are sailing from San Juan. Here are the itineraries for both

 

PORTS OF CALL for Jewel

San Juan, Puerto Rico; St. George's, Grenada; Castries, St. Lucia; St. John's, Antigua; St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands; Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas; San Juan, Puerto Rico

 

 

PORTS OF CALL for Adventure

San Juan, Puerto Rico; Bridgetown, Barbados; Castries, St. Lucia; St. John's, Antigua; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands; San Juan, Puerto Rico

 

Is one of these better than the other? Also, I have seen lots of great reviews and comments about Jewel, but not so much for Adventure. Would anyone choose one ship over the other?

They are both awesome cruises. We did Adventure three years in a row, and Brilliance last year (Jewel sister ship). My advice would be to choose based on the ports either ship is great!:)

I have to admit that I am leaning a bit towards the Jewel itinerary, but have not really researched all the ports just yet :)

DH and I are on Jewel 11/1/14! Note that the itinerary for the Jewel cruises are not all the same - we chose St.Thomas, St. Croix, Antigua, St. Lucia, Grenada as we had only been to St. Thomas before! If you go, do join the Roll Call - we are the only ones on it so far and I am lonely! LOL!

He he... I was actually looking at either the Nov 29 or Nov 30 cruises. One of the schools we are looking at for our son has a 2 week break at Thanksgiving - the week of and the week after. I was thinking the week after would be less expensive, and maybe not too crowded with kids :)

 

PS: I did notice that the two cruises Thanksgiving week have different itineraries - too many choices :D

Just based on ports I'd choose Adventure:) But you really can't go wrong with either!

I believe both ships have an "A" and a "B" itinerary and switch each week. I am getting ready to book the Adventure for 11/23 and 11/30 to get both routes in at once.

I think holidays would be crowded with children so we would never pick any school holidays to go away! Also, later in the month interferes with hunting season and I would have to go cruising alone!!

We are also looking for next fall - Southern route.

We've strongly considered the Nov. 1 repositioning cruise on Explorer from Bayonne. It does several southern ports, check it out.
