MSC Cruisers please

Hi folks....

I posted this on the MSC forum but there are few if any who respond to anything over there so I thought I'd send this out to the RCI cruisers who have been on MSC cruises as well.

DW and I are celebrating our 25th anniversary on the MSC Splendida, leaving from Valencia on 24 Sept.

Wondering what kind of weather we can expect in the Western Med this time of year?

Only been on Carib cruises before this where things are extremely relaxed for dress etc. So also wondering what the typical dress of the day is like on board, if there is such a thing as typical?

Thanks :)

The weather in the Med is still very nice, probably colder in the evening, but during the day it's OK.

I cannot help you with dress code as I have never sailed MSC. But on RCI the dress during the day is casual/relax ( read shorts and t-shirts) and more "dressy" in the evening.

Hope it helps.

I agree with these comments.

Cruised MSC Orchrestra

Out of Spain or Italy this time of year

Warm in Day

Cooler in night (I had sweater and never used it) (only lite jacket maybe)

We usually cruise October November

but did MSC in December/January and over holidays out of Italy

and it was cold.

Dress as you like in day on ship

Dining in evening more dressy smart casual,

not formal at all except for some who like to dress up on formal nights

We enjoy dressing up on formal nights.

Nothing enforced except for very casual in formal.

I tended on MSC to dress up more with button down shirts, and sport jacket. Polos will be fine though.

But that is me! It was Med, Transatlantic and Carribean cruise.

It was fun packing for all 3 weather conditions.

Very similiar to RCL in dress code.

But Europe crowds and longer cruises like Transatlantics

tend to attract older generations with different lifestyles and more cruising days!

A lot of these like us tend to dress up more!

It has been a bit colder than usual for a couple of weeks. For late september you better expect rain, just in case, but you can easily have glorius days as well. Temperatures are usually nice, arround 25ºC - 77ºF at day. At night it's a bit cooler, those are usually the first nights when you have to close the windows before going to bed.
