Pre-Paying Gratuities

Is there a way to pre-pay gratuities after the final payment has been made? Or was that an option that went away once we didn't opt-in at the very beginning?

Thank you!

There isn't a way to do it online, but you can call and they will set it up for you.

There are several options when it comes to gratuities. 1) you can pre-pay your gratuities. 2) you can wait until you board the ship and they will automatically add the gratuities. 3) if you were not satisfied with their services on board, you can opt out of paying gratuities at all. To do that you go to guests services and tell them that you want the gratuities subtracted from your account. I have always prepaid. Some cruisers prefer to tip directly to their room steward, bartenders wait staff and so on. It can be a really touchy subject.

Only things you will need to pay for in addition to tips are: excursions, alcohol & pop (unless you do endless bubbles or cheers program and pay ahead of time for them), coupon book if you choose to purchase, casino and bingo if you choose to play.

Tip for room service is not included

15% is automatically charged for drinks

That's what I was looking for.. OK, we're responsible for paying for room service if we order it.

EDIT: I just looked at the FAQ section (duh!)... my last questions: there are 3 of us. Is the gratuities taken out on each of our S&S cards, or on the card of whoever booked the cruise? And is the 15% for drinks added every time we get a drink with the card?

Thank you!

Every drink you order, the 15% will be added. The gratuities are added to the sign and sail account for your room if they are not pre-paid. When you register online, you fill out the sign and sale account. What ever card you sign up with, is the card that is debited. If you use a cash account, you will need to have the gratuities amount in the account to begin with which is added when you get to the ship/terminal. If there are several adults in my room, I ask them to prepay the gratuity so there's no problems on the ship.

Double check with carnival about the room service tip.

I've only cruised twice and booked through AAA each time with their travel agent. I prepaid gratuities both times and was told by the travel agent that covered ALL gratuities including the room stewart.

So maybe double check as a precaution if you are pre paying so you don't end up giving away money you don't have to.

Room Service is included, but you should TIP the waiter that brings it...

The prepaid tips do include the cabin steward but he or she is not the one who brings room service. That is done by people from the kitchens and it is customary to tip them a dollar or two for each delivery in cash when they deliver.
