cruisetmc Posted September 21, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 21, 2013 Just booked our first promenade stateroom on the Explorer. Anyone who's had one of these cabins - do they have the small refrigerator? We're on Deck 8 - is this a good location to see the parades from? sherlynn Posted September 21, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 21, 2013 We really liked our Promenade cabin on the Adventure and we were also on deck 8. No fridge in our room! And yes, you can see the parades from the window!!
Clarea Posted September 21, 2013 #3 Share Posted September 21, 2013 That's surprising. I thought all staterooms on Voyager class ships had coolers.
msw1023 Posted September 21, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 21, 2013 Our pr cabins definitely had a fridge. it wasn't set very cool. I believe if you need to store medications, you can contact special needs and they can adjust it for you. We liked the location for people watching without the crowds during parades and such. You are in a bit of a fishbowl with your curtains open, but I prefer that to an inside, and the window seat was a nice extra space. Deck 8 is far enough up to be quiet and the drapes will darken your room, because there are lights on all night Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk - now Free
cruisetmc Posted September 21, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted September 21, 2013 MSW1023 were you on the Explorer? We're thinking of ordering the water package. I realize they bring ice but just thought if there was a fridge it would help keep the water cool. What's your thought.
msw1023 Posted September 21, 2013 #6 Share Posted September 21, 2013 I was on the Explorer. The water package is your choice. I drink the ship water, they have flavored water in the Windjammer, and you can buy water on the ship. The package come with big bottles that are a nuisance to carry. I'd rather bring small bottles, or a refillable bottle. But thats a personal choice. Marsha Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk - now Free
cruisetmc Posted September 22, 2013 Author #7 Share Posted September 22, 2013 Thanks, I didn't realize they were the big bottles. Also, didn't realize Windjammer had flavored water.

Clarea Posted September 22, 2013 #11 Share Posted September 22, 2013 how do you tell if a room is a promenade toom. I am assuming these are interior rooms or is this wrong On Explorer, the category code for a Promenade room is "PR". They are grouped with interior staterooms on Royal's website and are usually priced less than OV staterooms.
