gumballz Posted July 7, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 7, 2005 What kinds of noises should we expect to hear while on the ship as in hull noises, settling, or creaks and groans? Thanks! ;)
Nitemare Posted July 7, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 7, 2005 Probably none, unless your cabin is in the boiler room.

gumballz Posted July 7, 2005 Author #4 Share Posted July 7, 2005 lol......the creaks and groans might be more likely to come from the cabin that's celebrating their 20th anniversary.......the newleywed's cabin might be more in the range of shrieks and moans. ;)
mrsfuzzmo Posted July 7, 2005 #5 Share Posted July 7, 2005 Cute...in reality, though, yes indeed you may hear lots of creaks and groans when there are high seas. Usually the lower you are the more you hear them. It's really pretty cool and part of the cruising experience. We've heard clanks, and bangs as well. One night on the NCL SEA out on the way back into Galvaston from Mexico we experienced 20 ft. swells and I tell you what, when the front of the ship was lifted out of the water and came smashing back down at 3 am.....it was more than a creak! We actually got the giggles because we were awoken with a start and couldn't for the life of us remember what our Muster station number was. Guess next time we will pay a little more attention to the lifeboat drill, and a little less attention to the welcome aboard cocktails....HeHe. We've had some fantastic sounds come out of the ship....and some of them even came out of the hull.
gumballz Posted July 7, 2005 Author #6 Share Posted July 7, 2005 I was hoping we'd hear some. I don't know why really.......I guess it just seems like it would help complete the experience. Thanks for the replies!
