#1TravelMom Posted October 1, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 1, 2013 Looking at the Jewel out of NOLA. When I google the cruise pier so I can choose a hotel - it looks the the pier is on the River. I'm used to cruising from Florida - right on the ocean. Do the ships in New Orleans navigate the river for a distance before reaching the ocean? Yes, the pier is on the river and it will take aproximately 8 hours before you reach the gulf. It's very nice.
#1TravelMom Posted October 1, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted October 1, 2013 Wow - we've been on 35+ cruises, but never out of New Orleans. That sounds very unique - strongly considering NOLA instead of Miami again.

Mine you we only had one suitcase each so it was easy to do.
