cormike1 Posted October 2, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 2, 2013 Can anyone give me the name of a private tour in this city? My husband and I are not art lovers so is there other things to see in this city other than the art galleries? The ships tours include the art galleries so we thought if we set up a private tour we could choose not to visit these. Any thoughts about what to see? Thanks everyone for your help! 4774Papa Posted October 17, 2013 #2 Share Posted October 17, 2013 We are looking at a two hour bike tour. http://www.biketoursuruguay.com
cormike1 Posted October 17, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted October 17, 2013 Thanks for that info but we are so out of shape we could never do a 2 hour bike tour even if it was all on even ground lol. I think we might have to just grab a taxi and ask for a quick tour around the city and do that on our own. Thanks again though 4774Papa for that suggestion!!! huskercruiser Posted October 22, 2013 #6 Share Posted October 22, 2013 We used Hebert Sismodi when we were in Punta del Este. His email is hsis@adinet.com.uy. We did the bike tour first to see the beach areas and then we went further afield with Hebert i.e. the hanging bridges, "Beverly Hills", Casapuebla, a winery. He can custom design what you want. You may also go to Jose Ig****o but that is the opposite direction from Casapuebla. The beach at Punta del Este is very nice and easily walkable from where the cruise ships tender. This would probably be the only "beach day" on a South American cruise.

Our cruise will stop in Punta del Este and we are trying to organize a private tour. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
