Half Moon Cay Question!

HMC is gorgeous. We rented a cabana thank goodness. We found many people struggling to find shade and we were the only ship there. There's a row of trees and we saw people cramming up under each tree but barely enough shade for all. We saw alot of people heading back to the ship early as they were "baked" from being out in the sun. I know nothing about the clamshells but have read on these boards that some types can make you very hot under the canvas.

The cabana is awesome and worth every penny. It comes with alot ... water/soda filled in a cooler, wicker furnishings (table and chairs, two loungers), misting fan (an AC and ceiling fan as well even though it's opened in the front), chips/dips, fruits/dips, counter space and storage cabinets for your belongings, snorkel gear (mask and flippers), floatation mats and a shower on edge of the front porch to rinse off sand. It really made our day on HMC a perfect day. If you decide on it, remember only one person books it and it's only that one charge (not everyone needs to book and each pays that price...some people get that impression). You pick your cabana # when you embark on the ship..just go to excursions desk..give your shoe size for flippers and what you like to drink (for the soda).

Enjoy HMC!

How much is the clamshell to rent? Do you pay with S&S card?

Do you pay with S&S card at the bar?

Do they sell tshirts & other souvenirs? Again, S&S card?

Just wondering if there is any need for cash. Tips maybe?

Also, do they have any floaty things for rent?

The Gift Shop takes S&S...

Be sure to walk down the beach PAST the ship bar. The crowds are much thinner the further you go and the chairs aren't packed in tight groups as the nearer sections of beach. No need for a cabana. Lots of shade trees around the cabanas. We've been there several times and would never spend money on cabanas.
