kylenyc Posted October 7, 2013 #2 Share Posted October 7, 2013 Yes, Jewish set with the small tiles. Tiles were missing and we had to be creative. Who knows what the condition of the set is now. Bring a set of your own to be sure.
Ilovesailing Posted October 7, 2013 #3 Share Posted October 7, 2013 I saw them on the Pearl last week but as other poster said there is always pcs missing to the games so I'd take your own set if it's that important. Our cruise out of Vancouver was filled with a lot of Asians and they were in the card room all the time playing.
johnql Posted October 7, 2013 #4 Share Posted October 7, 2013 They had 2 or 3 sets on my last Jewel cruise. I don't remember what was available on the Gem (sorry). I had to go through 2 of the sets and combine them in order to make a complete set.
Leona1 Posted October 9, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted October 9, 2013 Thanks for the info. As it turns out only two of us are taking this cruise so I will not be playing mah jong. Leona
mom&me_cruising Posted October 9, 2013 #6 Share Posted October 9, 2013 There were 2 sets in the game room when we cruised at the end of September. I do not know if they are full sets or not. There will likely be other Asians on your cruise, so you might find enough "legs" to make up a table.

But anyone who is interested in playing with other cruisers needs to keep in mind that there is a distinct difference between American mahjong and the original, Chinese form of the game. Players familiar with one version may not be familiar with the other or simply may not like it.
