Cruz4us4 Posted October 11, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 11, 2013 Our ship is in port until 11 PM and we have activities planned for earlier but, we are wondering what there is to do after 7 PM if we have a 17 year old with us. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Arubalisa Posted October 11, 2013 #2 Share Posted October 11, 2013 The typical reply without someone under age would be a casino or nightlife/bar. There are plenty of restaurants. Unfortunately sunset cruises end by 7:30 at the latest. With a teen, you can walk around streetside on Palm Beach, there are two outdoor shopping malls, you can wander in and out of the shops as well as check out the kiosks for shopping, grab some ice cream or gelato and maybe stop by the Hard Rock Cafe. Another thought if you have to get off the ship and do something, would be to take in a movie. http://www.thecinemas.aw/main/movies/renaissance.html Easy walking distance from the ship. If all else fails and you want to get off the ship to stretch your legs, you could easily walk along the waterfront and check out the boats and yachts docked at the marina. oakton_will Posted October 13, 2013 #3 Share Posted October 13, 2013 Hello ArubaLisa - We are considering a "submarine" excursion on 12-25-2013 (Christmas Day) booked through the Crown Princess ship - have you had any experience with this adventure - or any advice? I have linked to a lot of the threads here in this thread. Awesome itinerary by the way. :D If I were not going to be in Aruba over Christmas and New Years I would be downright jealous. ;) :)
Cruz4us4 Posted October 15, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted October 15, 2013 Great ideas, Arubalisa! Thank you so much. Is the gelato in the mall or somewhere else? We'd love to compare the flavors to what we tried in Europe.
Arubalisa Posted October 15, 2013 #6 Share Posted October 15, 2013 The place I was thinking of was in Palm Beach Plaza, but looking for their info, it appears they are now closed. :( Googling lists another spot, Gelatissimo but I don't know where exactly in the high rise area it is. It should not be hard to find, all of that area is walking distance from one end to the other.
Cruz4us4 Posted October 16, 2013 Author #7 Share Posted October 16, 2013 How nice of you, Arubalisa, to google for me! We'll wander and see what we can find. Just knowing that there is something we can do there after 7 pm is helpful. I appreciate the time you took to assist us. Have fun in Aruba on your next trip! MichelleArzaga Posted November 4, 2013 #10 Share Posted November 4, 2013 Hi Arubalisa, By any chance do you have any opinions about these two places? I will be there until 10pm from a cruise and I was also thinking of going to the Marriott for casino? Any and all help is appreciated. I am a Haagen Daz gal, dh and dd like the gelato at Aromi d'Italia Café. It is streetside in front of the Playa Linda Resort. It is easy walking distance to the Marriott from there. Since you are going to be at the Marriott, there is also a lobby cafe at the Marriott which serves ice cream. :)
