Santorini advice please

Hi and thanks in advance for any response. We will be in Santorini on May 11th 2014. Our plan is to ride the donkeys up to Fira - Do the caldera walk to Oia. My question is do the tender boats that offer the direct transfer to Armoudi (Oia) take passengers on the retun to the Fira port? If so do you need to book a time. I know a lot of people either bus/taxi back to Fira and am happy to do this.
