call princess and tell them you want your booking transferred to a new ta. they will take your information and note the new travel agent. then call your new ta and tell them to call princess to transfer your booking to them. princess will have a note in your account that you have authorized the new ta to transfer the booking. then the new ta can re-price your cruise. that's the procedure. i've done it before.

If you book with a TA Princess will not help.

princess will help. they have to be notified by the passenger. the original ta does not have to approve the transfer, but they might impose a cancellation fee. i gone through this process twice and both times my bookings were made with travel agents, not princess.

David,

Unless there is some sort of complaint or allegation of TA failure to perform, they most certainly DO have to agree to give up the booking. Princess will not take it away involuntarily unless you have claimed the TA has done something to violate their agreement with Princess. Did that happen with your two bookings?

i never said that princess will take away the booking. they need to notified by the passenger that the passenger wants the travel agent changed. then, when the new travel agent calls to transfer the booking to them, princess has it in the passengers notes that the passenger authorizes it. if princess didn't have that authorization, any ta could call and how would princess know that's what the passenger desires. i am speaking from my experiences with princess. it only makes sense that princess has to hear from the passenger before they hear from the new ta.

Check with your new TA. Mine has a standard form that she completed for me, filling in my name, voyage departure date and booking number and then all I had to do was sign and she sent it off to Princess. Easy!
