Best transportation MIA to Port Everglades and back?

Flying in and out of MIA for a cruise out of Port Everglades. Solo traveler.

I get into MIA at midnight so current plan is to just stay at a hotel near MIA and then take tri-rail up to Ft. Lauderdale the next morning unless someone has a better suggestion.

Returning to MIA what's the best options? Flight isn't until 3:20pm (but too early for any shore excursions).

And yes I'm saving enough money flying in/out of MIA to make this all worth it.:p

Best (IMHO) would be in the back of a stretch limo with a stocked bar! :D

If saving money is your objective then just reverse your plan to return to MIA after your cruise -- cab from PE to the Tri-rail and ride the train back to MIA.

American Shuttle, based inside MIA, will make the trip for about $40+ per person, depending upon how many are travelling with you. QLS, Go Airport and some other FLL based shuttle providers may make the same trip for a few dollars less. A taxi on the same run will cost about $85+ If you get a good deal on a rental car that would give you the flex to stop and shop for last minute cruise supplies and, if there are 2-3 travelling with you, could be a cheap and easy option. Good luck! :)
