Slot Pull Help Please

Can someone please walk me through how to do a slot pull.

I will be collecting $9.00 from each person in our group...what's next?

I know we want to play $3.00 on each pull and each person will get 3 pulls.

Do I collect the money from the group and upload it on my SS card?

Can I upload the slot machine with the amount I collected?

I'm pretty much clueless about the casino and gambling so if some one can give me "The slot pull for dummies" I would be grateful

i didnt organize ours, but here is what i remember how we did it.

set time for the group to sign up in casino (you set location to meet), and set time it closes. take down each persons name on paper as they pay the set amount this is the order of the slot pull. after closing the sign up, pick the machine you want. someone needs to enter their sail and sign card for the points and taxes if you win. we did this by whomever wants the points and tax liability puts their sail and sign card in a hat and draw one out. thats the card to be used. if taxes need to be paid that is taken out first and given to the card owner before dividing the winnings. you can now enter the cash into the machine all at once. call out first person to pull. you need someone to count the pulls and to cross off name to show they pulled. must be present to pull. go through the names. if someone is not present you move on and at the end go through list second time and if still no show for the pool you pull for them.

we also took down at sign in their room number so you can get winnings to them.

we did i think $10 entry w/10 pulls on dollar machine.

Good luck

this is what we did for 2 cruises back to back

Slot Pull Rules

1. The entrance fee is $15 per person

2. Official sign up will be at Meet & Greet, slot pull will be right after M & G

We will all meet at the bar in Casino to start off with, to gather as a group and have some fun.

3. We will use a dollar machine. We will play the maximum bet on the machine, we want a mechanical machine if possible. which is a $3 bet

4. Number of spins will be 5 at $3 max bet. Everyone will hit the play max button.

5. All slot money will be put into the machine before the first pull.

6. Once the first max button has been hit, no one else can join in and the game is closed. The slot pull will end after the last person entered has taken their turn on the slot machine.

7. Participation will be in the order of slot pull sign up. If you are "not" there when it’s your turn, you will be moved to the bottom of the list.

8. I will need a designated person to check names off the list and they will record the amount of all of the pulls and to assist me with paying everyone. (let’s hope it huge)

9. If we hit a large Jackpot, we will collect the payout and put all BUT the winnings back in another machine. The remaining folks will then start on the new machine. (We do this to improve our chances because once a machine hits big, the chances of it doing it again are very slim.)

10. You have to be with the group at the finish to collect your share of the winnings. (I don't want to spend my time trying to track down people to give them their money.) please meet me back at the same bar we first met up with before the slot pull, you will be paid there and pay winner(s) of the highest pull

11. The winnings will be distributed equally, except that they will be rounded down to the nearest dollar. The person who pull the highest winning in their pulls gets the left over change. In case of a tie it will be split equally.

12. The person who is assisting me and myself will need to go to the casino cashier to break down the money, so I have the right bills to pay everyone out.

13. no rule here as 13 is unlucky ;-)

14. Remember, this is a fun event to maybe gain a few dollars and enjoy the company of others in your group. I encourage everyone to cheer on the slot pullers and mingle with others in the group.

15. I will make contact with the Casino Manager the day before our slot pull and let them know what we are planning. Hopefully he/she will have some prize drawings during your event. If they do, make sure everyone knows the Casino Manager's name for their comment cards at the end of the cruise

I found most the rules when I researched doing a slot pull here on CC and revamped to suit our groups (we did a B2B)

everyone had just 5 pulls and whatever money was left in the machine after everyone had their 5 pulls we split the winnings between us all, we did not continue to pull till the money was gone as on second cruise we had over 40 playing ...

I brought a calculator and have some working with me and helping

first slot pull we each player was paid out $11

second slot pull each player was paid out $16

I rounded down the winnings to each player, the player that won us the most money got the change . If there was more than one with exactly the same amount of winning it just got split between them

I brought with me one dollar bills, as the casino does not have a lot of ones that they want to give out

I did speak with casino host before the slot pull and we were given prizes --- whip on sticks and t shirts

What I did was put on each sign up sheet which I had everyone sign the above rules I had a spot on sheet to mark how much each person won on their pulls. For the prizes I just folded up the sign up sheets threw them on the floor and drew for each prize. I had no complaints :D and everyone had fun.

I had everyone sign their own forum as to state they had been paid

have fun and have everyone cheer each other on the casino likes the noise coming from slot pulls (they don't mind)

I put all the money in at the start of the pull once we had first pull no one could join in

I was the Slot Pull host for our CC roll call on the 9/29 Carnival Valor. This is what I did.

1. Go to the Casino and ask if you can talk to the manager or someone else in charge. Tell them you are planning a Slot Pull for a group of "insert # here" friends and when you are planning to do this. They may or may not give you some stuff to give away. They had a package, which consisted of used decks of casino playing cards for everyone- 2 Players Club baseball caps- 2 Players Club T-shirts, waiting for me at the cash out window when we were ready.

2. Collect the money at the event. Bring a pen, pad, small pieces of paper and a hat or something to put small pieces of folded paper in. When someone gives you the money write their name down on one of the small pieces of paper and put it in the hat. When all monies have been collected proceed to the machine of your choice. It might be a good idea to walk through the casino prior to the event to pick the machine you want to play. My suggestion would be a $1 machine that has a wheel that spins on top. The one we played was Monte Carlo, I think. It adds a dramatic effect if the wheel spins, plus you can win some good money.

3. Put the money in the machine. Have someone pick the first name from the hat. Write their name down on the pad. Have them step up and try their luck. After their turn they then pick a name from the hat. This establishes the order of play for the next 2 rounds. Save the names for later if the casino gives you anything to give away. Pick a name, give a prize. Simple.

4.If you win money just have it down loaded onto your S&S card. This is easy to do at any machine just put it in and follow instructions. This should be done ahead of time. Take your card to the cash window to collect any winnings. Divide the money as best you can by the amount that played and that is it.

5. Have fun with it. I wore a crazy hat and beads. A fun variation is to collect $10 from everyone. Use $9 in the machine and $1 in a High Roller Pool. Record the amount they get on their turns and the person who gets the highest amount wins the pool.

BTW, we all got $6 dollars back and I won the High Roller Pool. Everyone said what a fun time they had for $4. GOOD LUCK!!!

I've hosted two of them and I have another one being planned for our December cruise. Here are the rules we used for the one we had on the Freedom last week:

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE CARNIVAL FREEDOM SLOT PULL

What is a Slot Pull?

A Slot Pull is similar to a group of friends who buy lottery tickets together and agree to split the winnings. In a Slot Pull, each participant pays a fixed amount and receives a fixed number of spins. After each participant has played, the group's winnings (or losses) are split among the group.

Who Can Participate?

Anybody can participate! Bring your friends, family, or even people you just met on the ship! There is no need to sign up in advance. The more people we can get to participate, the better the chances we have at a big payoff!

When will the Slot Pull be held?

Sunday, October 6th @ 4:00pm (immediately following the cocktail party). I will not be at the cocktail party. I'll be in the casino no later than 3:45pm to begin recording your entries and collecting buy-ins. I'm not sure exactly where we will meet in the casino, but I promise you won't be able to miss me. I'll be wearing an enormous black & red hat covered in card suits (club, spade, heart, diamond). Our Slot Pull will NOT be listed in the Carnival Fun Times, so please set a reminder for yourself with this date and time.

How long will the Slot Pull take?

This will depend on how many participants we have. Accommodations will be made for anybody who is concerned about making it to the Early Dinner seating. If you need to leave early, please let me know at the time that you sign up. I will make sure you are among the first to take your spins. You can leave when you need to and I'll provide you with my cabin number so that you can make arrangements to pick up your payout at your convenience.

What are the specific rules for this Slot Pull?

(1) Each participant will pay a $15 buy-in. You must pay in CASH and exact change is preferred (last year, I had people paying with $100 bills and it was difficult to make change!).

(2) The group consensus is that we would prefer to play on a $.01 or $.02 slot machine. We will select a machine which permits a bet of exactly $1.00.

(3) I will load all of the buy-ins onto my Sign & Sail card ("S&S"). This will be our "Beginning Balance."

(4) Each participant will take 15 spins. If a participant's spin results in a Bonus Game or Free Spins, that participant will also be allowed to play all of the bonuses and free spins that he/she earns.

(5) I will make note of the beginning balance on the S&S before each participant begins spinning, as well as the ending balance on the S&S after each participant's final spin. The participant who has the highest combined winnings* on his/her 15 spins is the BIG WINNER.

* The participant with the single biggest spin will not necessarily be the Big Winner, since the Big Winner is determined by the aggregate success of all 15 spins.

(6) After each participant has spun, I will cash out my S&S. The total that I cash out will be divided equally by the number of participants and ROUNDED DOWN to the nearest dollar. Each participant collects the rounded-down amount. The Big Winner collects the rounded-down amount PLUS all of the "excess change" from the rounding.

TO ILLUSTRATE:

Let's assume that 23 people participate. I would collect $15 per person and load the entire $345 onto my S&S. Let's assume that after everybody takes 15 spins there is $412 on the S&S. That amount would be divided by 23, to come up with $17.91. Each participant would receive a $17 distribution. The Big Winner would receive $17 PLUS $20.93 ($.91 x 23), for a total of $37.93.

Additional Rules:

(a) Multiple entries ARE permitted. For example, if you pay a $45 buy-in, you will receive 3 times the number of spins and 3 times the payout at the end. You would also have three chances at being the Big Winner.

(b) If the "excess change" amount is $.24 or less, $1.00pp will be added to the excess change amount before making distributions. Otherwise, the "Big Winner" wouldn't be collecting much of a bonus for being the winner.

© In the event that there is a single spin of $1,200 or more, the casino must report the winnings from that spin to the IRS. The individual responsible for claiming those winnings will automatically receive a payout of 25% of the amount of that spin (to cover his/her tax liability) before any other distributions are made to participants.

So, if someone "volunteers" their S&S card, might end up with a casino cruise offer for "playing so well"?

Not unless you have a HUGE group of people for your slot pull. I earned about 100 points each time with a group of 20ish people each time. It takes 1,500 points just to get free drinks and about 20,000 points to get a free cruise.

as a Canadian and since it was my card in the machine. --- we can claim back the 25 % tax liability if we won :D I was willing to do that then split the cheque with those in the slot tourney. but it would take 6 months for the US to send a cheque to me before that all to happen. We did not win but it was if we won big..

PS even with 40 of playing with $15 each in machine, the points given on my card were not much, it did not help me to get close to the 1500 points for a drink, I earn them on my own.. I think I got all of 60 points
