How was Sensation? How was the casino?

She was great! We had a wonderful time. All the crew we encountered were friendly, and always smiling. Serenity hot tubs were nice and hot. Casino was tight, there were 4 of us playing in there, and none of us ever got ahead...boo

Wonderful older ship. Well maintained. Great fun. Crew is terrific. We love the Cruise Director (Wee Jimmy) one of the best we have encountered on Carnival. Agree about the Casino, tight. We were down the first day and never recovered.

Yep, they sure did. My husband played a couple of times, but the cards weren't falling for him, so he quit. The casino is a bit on the small side, and very smoky. I think the most popular game is The Vault, where you try to get a game piece perfectly through the cut out. Didn't see anything had been won the whole cruise.

You just made my night!!!!!!!!!!!! Let It Ride is a game of wait and see. You have to have patients to win.

My husband won all four days on the Sensation last year. Play the $1 wheel of fortune, he and another player kept winning on those machines. Both not only got great spins, but each won $1600 by getting all three Double icons within an hour of each other.

29 more days really want to hear about the ship

We were on her Sept. 29-Oct 3. We had a great cruise. Booked Grand Suite U107. Room was huge, walk in closet, tons of drawer space, jacuzzi tub, nice balcony w/3 chairs and a small table. The ship was very clean. Staff was always friendly and smiling. We did ATD. First night there was the usual line, but moved very quick, which was good. The rest of the nights, no wait. They did sit us at the same table, which was nice, you got to know your dining team. Food was good, not to slow. WCMC awesome as always :D Went to the family comedy show, the comedian was very funny. Would recommend going. We did brunch of our sea day. It was very good also, my mother-in-law had the eggs w/filet mignon, and said it was the best thing she had eaten while onboard. We did the Adult Serenity area while in Freeport, basically had it to ourselves. Hot tubs back there are very hot. Music up on Lido was very loud, techno like. Did not enjoy that, you could barely hear yourself think...lol We did the mini golf, you might want to bring the little note pad from your cabin if you want keep score, was no score cards up there. We are past guest, so we had a coupon for a free drink, it says you can get it in the dining room w/ brunch or lunch. We took it to The Touch of Class piano bar, and they made us our drinks in there. I had the Hurricane Wave, loved it. When eating in the buffet for breakfast or lunch, we designated the outside eating area at the aft of the ship, it overlooked the Serenity area, as our eating spot, that way we always knew where everyone was. It was nice out there, and not crowded at all. WE did roomservice every morning, just put the card out the night before. Always on time, and our order was correct. We just tipped $2 each morning. The ocean was so smooth on this sailing, at times it was like we were on a lake. If you have any other ?'s just ask, I'll try to answer the best I can. I did bring home my Fun Times, so if there is something specific you would like to know ask away. ;)

Thanks for the tips. I think we should do brunch at sea too. I never have eaten in the main dinning for breakfast. ATD? Is it pretty much the same as main dining? I don't want to wait on Thanksgiving. I wonder if we should just do the late dining?

We were on the Sensation for October 6-10. Casino was pretty decent but SMALL. I played blackjack for a hour or two and left up $300. Casino employees were nice and I got one free drink. There were a fairly decent amount of kids on the boat but it wasn't too bad. On Sea day the pool was a bit crowded and bit on the wild side but nothing too crazy.

I was also on the Sensation Oct. 6 to 10. We booked U114. Good location. Big room. Big balcony. Super room steward. We found the room to be a bit warm and no thermostat to adjust the setting. Looked like you could just twist the vents open or closed but the twist things on ours didn't line up to anything. I asked for a fan and got it. It helped circulate the air and provide nice white noise to sleep by.

There was definite wear and tear in our room and around the ship but that's expected for a ship that age. The crew couldn't have been nicer. Everyone smiling. Always greeting you.

The casino was not my friend. :( I left everything I brought in. A few nights I did get to play on their money for a while but overall I was a big loser. The casino host did buy me a drink and on the last night they sent me some choc. covered strawberries. I did accumulate a lot of points.

Only one of the hot tubs on the pool deck was open the whole cruise. The waterworks area was closed half the day on October 7 and all day October 8. Some kind of water flow issue. Thankfully it was open all day on the 9th. The large yellow slide was not as great as we hoped. You can feel every joint when you're sliding. My kids and I all agreed that it hurt our backs too much to do it more than once.

Food overall was pretty good. I wasn't impressed with the pizza area because they never had more than cheese or pepperoni available when you walked up. You could special order any of the other options but why not have a few of them available during peak times? The salad bar was lacking a bit but what they had was good. There was chocolate and vanilla soft serve and chocolate and strawberry frozen yogurt. We had a lot of all of them! :D

Embarkation was easy. Debarkation easier still. We carried our own stuff off and left at our leisure. Overall a good cruise. It was our first Carnival cruise. We'll definitely book them again.

Do they have flat screen tvs in the cabins?
Yes, we did. We were in a GS and it was small compared to the size of the room. Then again we weren't in the room all day to watch TV.

I got a kick out of Wee Jimmy. He was very friendly, and was in the lobby saying goodbye to everyone as we disembarked. I had good luck at the Casino, but as they say "know when to fold em". Within 5 minutes, I hit $80 on a $5 investment, and told myself, CASH OUT. Never went back. Too many times, went back the next day and lost it all and then some.
