Gala62 Posted July 10, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 10, 2005 This has been an idea of mine for a few days. There are so many websites on individual posts/threads with GREAT shopping! :D Why not bring them all together in one directory for easy reference? This could grow to include shoes, bags, accessories, hats, mens fashion, etc, etc. Posters when listing a site should list: 1. website 2. brief description of goods available, sizes available (if applicable) 3. Note whether or not you've ordered from the site (ie: you like the quality/service, etc) or if you've just happened across the site and it looks interesting and wanted to pass it along. The only thing I would suggest is to keep discussion/chatting to a bare minimum, make this a real directory. I'll start with a few all-time favorites of mine! http://www.junonia.com Sportswear and great swimsuits for plus-size women. I've ordered from them extensively. Many swimsuits are chlorine-resistant. http://www.shoebuy.com Shoes in every width imaginable. Free shipping (return also!), love them! http://www.silhouettes.com Pretty, feminine plus-size clothing. Some more younger styles. Nice stylish wide shoes. http://www.devalifewear.com Natural fiber clothing. Much of it made in the USA. Many items perfect for hot tropical climates, lovely floaty nightgowns! Sizes S-XXXL, depending on style. Mens and women's garments. http://www.kiyonna.com Plus-size for 20-40 year old group (at a guess!). Very form fitting and sexy! Have not ordered, but would like to. http://www.torrid.com Trendy fashion for the plus-size teen and young adult. There is a Torrid store here in Minneapolis at the Mall of America and I have been in that. Fun merchandise meant to be worn for a year or two! bayyore Posted July 16, 2005 #8 Share Posted July 16, 2005 oops! I posted this elsewhere but this is a better idea(to group websites all together) I haven't ordered from here yet but they do get 4.5 stars for cutomer service on Yahoo! Shopping. Nice selection of dresses and accessories. Many lovely formal gowns under $100 to under$200. http://www.sophisticatedlady.us/
Jane110 Posted July 16, 2005 #9 Share Posted July 16, 2005 Lots of designer stuff at http://www.eluxury.com Only problem with eluxury is that they're often higher priced than full retail. In the past, I've seen designer items in a store like Sak's and was hoping to find them for less online and they were either the same or a few dollars more at eluxury. This happens a lot with the Dior things. I found a pair of Dior leather pants a couple of years ago that were $1800. in the Dior store as well as in Sak's. Just for a lark, I decided to search for them on line - Eluxury was selling them for $1900. Funnily enough, I found them on Ebay a couple of weeks ago and the bid for them was about $800. I don't know what they eventually sold for. So, if you find something you love at eluxury, before you buy it, check with a retailer like Neimans or Sak's and you might even get it for less. If I think of more I will post them.... Shannon
