mickev99 Posted January 29, 2014 #151 Share Posted January 29, 2014 Hey all - those of you waiting for the cruise compasses, I apologize for the delay - they will be scanned and emailed tomorrow - I had a bit of a family situation the last week so am a bit behind. They will be coming from my email at goodchildgirl @ msn . com so look for that in your junk or regular email. Thanks and again, sorry for the delay. Happy Cruising!! Thanks so much! I'm going to add your email address to my contact list to make sure it doesn't go to spam. Bellsouth is notorious for blocking emails and not even letting me see them, so I wasn't sure if that's what happened. You are so wonderful for offering to do this! StorkRN Posted January 29, 2014 #153 Share Posted January 29, 2014 A couple more Falmouth Shots: Now about the two young ladies I mentioned from The Crypt. These young ladies were seen for a great part of the day at a little outdoor bar in port drinking and drinking and really during their dances as in the Crypt, on top of the bar and everything. The Jamaican men were really liking this and more than glad to dance with them. As I was standing out on the balcony enjoying the scenery and having a beer I look down and see a security person escorting in arm them back to the ship and handed them over to the ship’s security. They look like from my vantage point on the 9th deck that they were talking a lot of trash to security and of course drunk as usual. Well I had seen them many of times around the ship, but after this day we never saw them again the rest of the cruise, so we wondered if they were confined or thrown off the ship. We never knew. As I sat out on the balcony, I fell off to sleep and the next thing I knew the ship had pulled away from the pier and we were underway and it was then getting close to dinner time. This was the day we ate at Chops. We had a 7:00 reservation and once again Chops was delicious. After we finished a litlle after 8:00, I took our deserts back to the cabin and the wife went to the Promenade to wait in line for the BIG Michael Kors store sale! When I came back down, I saw that she was lucky enough to have secured a spot about 5th in the line and there was a long line. When they opened the doors, the big rush in was on! They were just grabbing purses that they had scoped out earlier that they knew they wanted and some just held on to one or two until they decided which one they wanted........ "It's A Madhouse........A Madhouuusse" OK now.....What Movie?????? Don't know???? The Original Planet Of the Apes! LOL! So are the "big sale" prices really that good? To me a "big sale" is at least 70% off a $300 purse. What kind of prices are you looking at? I need to know in order to put a little aside in a private stash as we sale on Freedom in April! Shhhh...don't tell my husband! ;)
Rare BillOh Posted January 29, 2014 #154 Share Posted January 29, 2014 Embarkation Day:We had our luggage tags (In the tag holders from Amazon) already on our luggage, so we were able to just hand off the luggage to one of the porters, gave him a tip and went and got in line to get checked in Thanks for taking the time to do this review. I am returning to Freedom after what will be 7 years by the time I get back on her. I was looking to refresh my memory. I was going to withhold comment, but I see you were in the same room we were back in April of 2008. Back to reading.

Beacher123 Posted January 29, 2014 #156 Share Posted January 29, 2014 Being fairly new to RC, one cruise in 2007, we are sailing FOS in May. Have been on several CCL crises. I have a few ??? if you don't mind: What meals are a must both mdr and buffet. Is there an omelet bar in the morning We like to walk in the morning, what deck would you suggest Any input on the casino I'm sure I have more, but this is a good start. We had 9 inches of snow last night and this is my way of coping.

My favorite meal in the MDR is stil the Captain's platter on Lobster Night. I really enjoy it. In The Windjammer Buffet, I would usually eat a little sampling of various dishes I saw so I do not really remember any particular item that I ate that I could really say, "You have to try this or that". I realy wish I could help you there though because there was something I put on my plate one day and it was awful and I did not eat it! Yes you can get Omelets in the morning Most folks walked the top deck above the pool deck. When I would go out every morning to take pictures of the sunrise there were always lots of people out walking or running the track. Some folks walked on the 4th deck outside Promenade because it had stairs you would have to walk up and down. Not good if you do not like the smell of smoke because the starboard side is the side for smokers and it gets plenty of use. The only time I was in the Casino was when I was daring enough to lose some money in the slots which is the extent of my gambling. I would stand around the tables sometimes and watch. The smoke in there was not real bad, but it is noticeable. Edited January 29, 2014 by bigque

beshears Posted January 29, 2014 #162 Share Posted January 29, 2014 I finished your review, but a GREAT one at that.:) A couple questions: At Johnny Rockets, I believe you said you paid $4.95? Is that for a sandwich, drink or what. I think you said something about a malt, but my question, does Johnny Rocket have different prices for their menu? I believe you mentioned about taking pictures at "some" shows, and some you did not take. Are there some shows where you cannot take pictures? The reason I ask, I'm a picture MONSTER, so I would like to know ahead before I get in trouble.

You pay the price and order what ever you want off the menu. You have to pay for soda's unless you have the drink package. You can usually take pictures at any of the shows but cannot use flash and no videotaping. They will tell you at the beginning of the show what is allowed. You were allowed to video tape the Magic Show, which I did.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app If you are refering to paying the one price and ordering anything you want off the menu, then yes. You can order as many appetizers as you want but only one entree. Soda's is always extra unless you have the drink package.
beshears Posted January 30, 2014 #168 Share Posted January 30, 2014 bigque, we are doing the Western itinerary, and it looks like a good one.:) I just hope things will go more smoothly for us this time, than when we cruised Royal Caribbean years ago. They lost our luggage (going on another ship) for 4 days, so to say the least, we were very "unhappy campers." :( I've been taking lots of notes as my friend lives in Arizona and I in Missouri, so she is depending upon me to get it ALL together. :)

Do you think the Romance specials you ordered were a good value? We do. On our cruise before Freedom we go the Grand Romance Package which came with 2 robes, but on Freedom we oredered the regular Romance Package since we got the robes the previous time. But yes we think it is worth it.

If you could look at one thing (if you are bringing kids that will use Adventure Ocean)...I know that they close from 12-2 on sea days, but do they always offer the adventure lunch where you pay a charge (I think it's $8 per child) for them to provide lunch? Sea days are the only thing that I am concerned about as they will be going off the ship with us during port days. And Adventure Dining...is it only on certain evenings or is the option there every night? Thanks so much! And I would love copies of the Cruise Compasses when you get back, even if it's only page 3 & 4 to get the daily schedule and when Flowrider, ice rink, and rock climbing wall are open. Have an awesome trip!!!
