Place you can go beside the buffet 1st day?

Is there a place you can go to get lunch besides the buffet on the first day? We don't really want to get into the crazy crowd if possible. Thanks!

They always have at least one restaurant open too plus the food places around the pool areas serve quick foods like burgers and pizza's too.

One sit down restaurant is open upon boarding (Parrot Cay/Enchanted Garden). Room service is available after 1:30, and the fast food outlets on the pool deck are open.

 

The sit down restaurant serves a buffet, but you go in and are taken to a table. A server takes your beverage order and gets the beverages and refills...he/she points you to the buffet for food. There is little or no line typically. They will clear your empty dishes too (like when you want to go back for dessert.)

That's good, On Carnival there was one buffet open that most people knew about and it was chaotic and insane. Luckily we found a hidden restaurant that nobody else knew about. There was one other couple there when we went and the food was good :)

Are the soft drinks included in the sit down restaurant (fountain soda). I know they charge for can sodas.

Sodas in the restaurants are fountain service--they are served to you in glasses, and are included in the cruise fare IF you stick to coke products. If you ask for something other than the standard fountain drinks (for instance, if you ask for Dr. Pepper or ginger ale), it would come out of a can and is sometimes charged. Seems to be at the discretion of the CM!
