Dream Aft Extended Balcony

We're booked in one of these cabins for our upcoming Jan. cruise. My husbands aunt and uncle have the cabin next to ours. Does anyone know if the divider between the two balconies can be opened? Also wondering if they have a lounger on these balconies? We're on the Upper deck, does anyone know if the Burgundy Lounge below will be bothersome? Any info is greatly appreciated. I asked these ?'s in the Cabin Selection Tips forum, but got no responses. Thanks:D

Don't know if these are the only ones, some say you will have to wait till on board and ask the room steward.

We were on Empress Deck. We had several cabins booked next to each other. We opened all the dividers so we had one large deck. The only cabin that had a lounge chair was the wrap. The others had two chairs and a table. The chairs did have reclining backs.

Glad to read you can open which ever side you want. MikeM's post is very detailed, and had me worried, because his list showed we wouldn't be able to open the divider between the two us. Oh we'll about the loungers, I'll make do without one. At least one has a reclining back. And from looking at pics, looks like there are ample loungers out on the other decks. Thanks for both of you responses :)

You might be able to ask your steward to obtain a lounger for your deck. I've heard they can sometimes do that.

We were able to open the partition between the aft wrap and the extended balcony next to us even though the deck plans said it couldn't be done!

Best. Balcony. Ever. :) Ask your room stewart as soon as you go to your cabin!

We will definitely ask for it to be opened, and also ask him about getting a lounger. Asking never hurts anything....

We just got back from the Dream. We had the corner aft and my brother had the extended next to us. We asked the room steward if the divider could be opened and were originally told "no" because there was nothing to latch the door opened. We looked at it and if it swung open to our side, it would cover a bit of the window. If it swung the other way, it would cover the door. Lo and behold, that night, the divider was opened and there was a plastic piece above our window for the latch. So, it can be done.

 

One caveat. One day the maintenance crew came to clean the balconies. When they came, they closed and locked the door. It was the last sea day for us so it really was no big deal. However, they were supposed to do the maintenance a couple of days earlier. Just wondering if they would have closed and locked it then, leaving us with several days of the door being closed.
