Can we upgrade?

Hi everyone, wanted some help in determining if we can upgrade (i will call carnival tomorrow to be sure). We booked under last months "sale" for a cruise on the paradise dec 19th 2013. We are in a 4C inside cabin on the upper deck. My question is, the price of an oceanview on the upper deck is now just barely cheaper then what we paid so can i upgrade to that cabin and not lose my OBC? I know i cant get OBC for any price decreases since I'm not early saver and final payment has passed but an oceanview would nice.

You can call and inquire, but I'd be concerned about losing the OBC. We booked during the sale as well, but we keep price checking just in case.

I'm pretty sure that you deduct obc from the cruise rate. So, You probably lose your obc.

i would tend to agree with you.

 

OP just call CCL and see. Nothing to lose but a few minutes of your time.

You will lose your obc according to Carnival's rules. We booked military rate with obc. Higher category cabins started selling for less than we paid for our cabin. I called to see if I could upgrade but was told twice that I would lose my obc. Not worth it. Kept my cabin.
